Vlog 244: First live streaming experience + Leasing steempower is great for investors.

in #life7 years ago

Yesterday I tried something different.

Instead of typing a blog post about mice hunting I decided to go live and stream a game.

I wanted to try out dlive for some time now and after 6 hours of preparing for the mice hunt that day, I was kinda done with mice for that night. Let alone write about them :)

Now, game streaming is not really part of 'my blog' and I guess this feeling limits a lot of bloggers on steemit.com.

But why should a limitation of the steemit.com website limit yourself in your own creative freedom?

Still, it took me some time to make the decision and it turned out fine in the end!

I had a lot of fun going 'live'.

It's a very much different experience from vlogging.

Trying out new things like this is just very nice and keeps things 'fresh'.

The other subject of my vlog is leasing steempower and the return on investment.

I am a witness with our developer group @blockbrothers for the Steem blockchain. If you want to support us I would appreciate your vote here.

We build Steemify a notification app for your Steemit account for iOS.

You probably didn't see my comment on your stream so I'll leave it here again.

Turn Up your mic volume, we couldn't hear you clearly. At least I didn't.

I did see your comment. You weren't the only one. After the stream, I watched the video myself and confirmed it. I'll fix this for next time for sure. I think the trouble was an echo in the mic + to low sound. thanks for the feedback.

Just wanted to make sure :) Looking forward for your future streams. What other games do you play?

Great @exyle I wouldn't let the limitation of the steemit website ebb the flow of my own creative freedom! That is what i learned majorly from this post!

I want to be involved with Dtube and another with Dsound because he is both a singer and a producer. But our third guy has been trying to crack up something with DLive. This post helped. I contacted him to read this.

Yeah, i know you've been here for a while and the next one will be better. Narked about the low sound volume too though.

Thanks

The rates that your naming on the minnowbooster site sounds pretty decent. I do however have a bad experience with buying delegation with such terms. What if prices rise or fall. I just stopped my delegation with blocktrades because i would loose 30% on my delegation request. So it is a knife that cuts both ways.

But I will look into the minnowbooster delegation market and see what is possible for a small shrimp like myself. Tnx for sharing your insights.

After some further investigation. It is a nice investment for people delegating steem to others. But for those who are getting steem it is a huge loss. It is practily the same as blocktrades. A loss of about 20 - 30% of what you get delegated. I wil not bore you with the math behind it but if you are interested feel free to visist my last blog post about my 15k delegation of blocktrades.

Leasing steempower would definitely help the whole community to grow, will attract even members who cannot invest big initially, hence improving the Steemit adoption rate and will ultimately increase the STEEM price!

@exyle I think that creating additional income streams is a good thing. Leasing will allow many people that would like to do so to create added income that could very well make a big difference in a lot of lives.................

But why should a limitation of the steemit.com website limit yourself in your own creative freedom?

Nicely said and I agree with you.
Glad you had a great time with Dlive. I do like the idea 💡 of leasing Steem power. However, have you noticed that it’s more profitable if Steem is higher? Am I wrong? I mean, if Steem price goes down, shouldn’t they adjust the amount of Steem power being leased? I might be wrong, but with the price where the Steem is now it’s just not worth it to lease it.

I guess it's a free market and prices should adjust accordingly. I have never leased or leased out my SP so regarding that I'm not 100% sure but it makes sense to me.

That’s a good point.

Yes, in life you should never be afraid to do something new and go only forward!

Didn't know the difference between MinnowBooster and SmartSteem before this video, and the idea with the whitelist is really good. We should all try to promote the good quality content here and not just think about profit.
I haven't tried leasing steempower yet since I'm a small user here but it might be something to think about in the future. What is you opinion on delegate steempower to boots for smaller users? Or is it still better to lease out steempower?
Have you ever consider in leasing out steempower or do you want to keep your steempower?

I have to test Dlive sometime when I have time to play with my friends.
As always really enjoyed your vlog.
Have a nice day exyle.
