Vlog 291: My 1-year vlogging anniversary is coming up this month.

in #life7 years ago (edited)

My 1-year vlogging anniversary is coming up this month.

So I was going through some of my old vlogs to hear my thoughts and ideas I had back then about the Steem blockchain.

For old times sake this vlog is on youtube :)

I calculated back then that $3-$4 STEEM would be the dream for me because I could then live of curation alone (150 STEEM a week).

I also say that earning STEEM would be harder and harder in the future and that the people that powered down (back then) would never be able to earn the STEEM back in the future by blogging.

I also look forward to communities and I mention that I would like to try Steepshot iOS (but it wasn't released yet).

I was partly right about things.

Curation rewards have gone down and 150 is no longer correct. It's gone down to around 75, even though I have more SP now.

The amount of STEEM you earn though blogging has gone down a lot and I was right. Earning powered down STEEM back by blogging alone has proven to be impossible.

Communities I still look forward too and Steepshot iOS has of-course been released and it's fantastic.

I talk about it more in my vlog.

Here are two old vlogs were I talk about these ideas.

Steem and why you should keep it. (14-5-2017)

Vlog #5: Omg he's in his car, STEEM + financial freedom. from @4:06. (18-5-2017)

I am a witness with our developer group @blockbrothers for the Steem blockchain. If you want to support us I would appreciate your vote here.

We build Steemify a notification app for your Steemit account for iOS.

I have been following your vlogs everyday for a while now. I must say that all the hopes and opinions you had one year ago are maybe the ones that I personally have today. We are still on a very early stage, I think that if you keep your vests for a very long term (10/15 years) you could probably benefit a lot more than cashing out whenever the price goes up , considering a potential user base of hundreds of millions if not even billions of people on Steem in the future and the inflation decreasing every year, if today a post can give you 10/15 SP tomorrow could give you 0.1/0.15 but if the price of Steem increases as well you basically earn the same amount of rewards in dollar valuation, theoretically this makes perfect sense.

Yes! (And that's not even considering SMT's).

I am late to your blog @exyle and that partly due to my newbie status.

I got here at your birthday post, that giant saliva seducing steak you prepare, if only technology had solved sending packages through phones.

I am hooked to your blog onwards. And this is the kind of post I like too. In the future we'll all look to such and said 'we know it.'

Congrats in advance to your 1 year blogging anniversary.

Whenever I feel down when my post don't garner enough attention, I look up to the steemit header and the 'beta' replenishes my energy.

The best is yet to come and though it is hard earning presently, we are not late to the party.

Did you also consider the option that Steem won't exist over 2 years?
Or that the price drops close to zero, which is more or less the same. Of course we all think and hope it will remain, but what if it doesn't?

What do you think about that?

Congratulations @exyle on completing 1-year vlogging anniversary on this great platform and posting Day in, day out, every day without fail , is in itself is a big achievement and being generous at the same time. Hats off!

Thanks, man!

@exyle,
You did few smart moves in STEEMIT platform and Vlogging is one of the best move of them! I wish STEEM will rise to 2 figure value in near future! Then you might be a millionaire of course :D

Cheers~

Happy advance vlogging anniversary @exyle! I hope it will be a great vlogging day for you :)

Wow are you Nostradamus' descendant? A lot of things you have said have come true. Yes curation has gone down and you need some SP now to get anywhere through blogging. I wonder what Steem will hold in the future. Yes I think Steemit can attract a lot of users, but can we retain these users. The reward pool only benefits whales and dolphins with big followings and the ability to pay for bid bots. We need an effective minnow support system or Steemit could die in the long term. We need more decentralization!

Your blog has been one of the best ever man!, I remember when I found your vlog 9 months back and how I have grown on Steemit with. I have learn much and some good life style from.

I also say that earning STEEM would be harder and harder in the future and that the people that powered down (back then) would never be able to earn the STEEM back in the future by blogging.

I remember those words, when u said it back then and I even have some writing on my note pad.

I don't think i could ever miss a vlog in a day from you.
Weldone @exyle keep on your work, your vlog has keep me moving.

I like Youtube videos better but I bet you lose some money loading to Youtube instead of Dtube.

Mark good VLOG today and Congratulations on your coming One Year Anniversary..........@exyle there have been so many great applications that have come to STEEMIT in the past Year, but I think the BEST is coming in the Year ahead. (SMT's) and easier sign UP process for NOOBs. Keep doing what you are doing most people enjoy your postings and like me look forward to them everyday.

Thanks! I'm looking forward to SMT's a lot!

I also say that earning STEEM would be harder and harder...

Yes, you are right. This makes totally sense. That’s why I said “we have to work even harder now” when Steem dipped down to $1.70 not so long ago. You can check my comment to your Vlog. Instead, I saw many people powering down, stopping posting. I also said “it’s all in our brains 🧠 “. Most people react based on their emotions, when it’s down, their thoughts are taken down as well. I hoped we could get as low as $1.00 just like your buying point was. But I guess it’s already past the point. I’m looking forward steemit future and your Vlogs!
BTW: happy anniversary in advance!

Congratulation. It seems you grew a lot over the years. I also learn a lot from your vlogs and posts. I believe we are still in early phase regarding STEEM, so we can all be enthusiastic about the future.
