A Shift in Mindset Goes A Long Way

in #life6 years ago

What initially attracted you to the Steem blockchain? Was it the decentralised aspect leading to uncensored content creation? Or maybe the earning potential offered by the platform? Or perhaps even taking advantage of the social factors that come with being part of a larger crypto-based community? Well, whatever they may be, our environmental variables have changed somewhat within the last week or so. Certain constants that were assumed to propagate well into the future, have now taken a backseat. And the sooner we understand what is actually going on, the sooner a possible resolution can be put into place.

The Steem blockchain is in trouble. And with that statement, I'm of course relating it back to the financial mess down at Steemit Inc. Without them at the helm striving towards developing this blockchain, major problems going forward are a veritable ticking time bomb just waiting to go off. So, with that in mind, it might be a good idea to shift our perspective from "what can this blockchain give to me" and instead see it as "what can I do for the blockchain". I'm fully aware that only a handful of individuals on here have the technical clout to actually get stuck in with more efficient coding techniques or better re-organisation of key roles, ultimately leading to cost saving, but that doesn't mean the rest of us can't do anything.

And by that, I mean "resistance to change". If particular measures are taken along the way that lead to minor nuances regarding our "Steem" blockchain experience, then so be it. This might come in the form of advertising banners, implementation of subscription-based business models or certain percentage cuts taken from votes or services on here. Remember, I'm just brainstorming and throwing some possibilities out there. Because the simple fact of the matter is this. For a simply "tweak" in our mindset to accepting a few of these propositions, it might mean the difference between life or death for the Steem blockchain. And let's face it, no systemic adjustment takes precedence over that one damning alternative. Right now, it's not about improvements to interfaces or initiatives to on-boarding users. Suddenly, all that is meaningless, given the magnitude of that we could be facing. The implosion of the blockchain, if nothing is done.

Now is a time where everyone should be open to whatever contingencies stand available, with a view to help us all in the end. If a banner outlines the side of your post, that's fine! At this juncture, see that banner as a lifeline to keeping Steem afloat. A very small price to pay, I'm sure you'd agree. And also bear in mind that these may only be temporary measures until the markets turn around. But at this moment, we need revenue at a time of extreme emergency, therefore political ideologies or small inconveniences to us, are simply of no consequence. The way I see it, we're at a critical point and everyone working together in unison, however small your role may be, is aiding repair to this sinking ship.

So, let's open our minds a little and consider all possibilities, with a firm focus on the end result which should be "getting additional revenue streams flowing in from external sources". The crypto markets are playing merry hell with development projects across the board and it's a question of staying solvent until the danger passes. Remember, we're not the only crypto project out there feeling the strain. But what we have is a solid, vast community of greatness and talent. Let's not let all these precious resources go to waste just because we 're all too stuck in our own ways.

Adapt and survive is the order of the day.

Much appreciated, buddy. Let's see after tomorrow's livestream where we're at.

Yeah we also wants to welcome every possibilities, coz we are in the market and we wants it to run. I am seeing post about advertising every where. It would be a great idea but should not adapt the same like other social media.

This line is very precious to me.

When the wind changes we need to change too. One of the things that I always said is, we need to adapt when is need it. Now, I don't see that as a bad moment, I see as a amazing moment to become knew for people that continues to be in the platform.

I been reading up on blockchain, Bitcoin (ignore all other shitcoins), futurism and what's happening in our society today.

That alone can shift your mindset AND get out of all this drama.

Dare I say then, people need to make this shift:

Decentralization will start with some centralization.

Oops -_-

Sorry not sorry to offend everyone lol.

Good post bro. I always respected you here.
