#Beautiful Sunday: Upgrading our Room on Christmas Eve!!

Today we cleaned our new couch.

I dislike using commercial cleaning products, so I decided to find an alternative cleaning solution.

My best friend Google popped up a couple of suggestions, but importantly, stressed to FIRST read the cleaning label of the couch.

The fifth symbol must stand for 'No ironing!' and the second symbol screams 'Don't put this in a washing machine!'. One would need to have an enormous washing machine to fit our two-seater couch in though!!! =D

I wasn't completely sure what the rest of the symbols stood for, but my fingers were itching to start cleaning.

To be safe, I followed the instructions for cleaning a fabric sofa.

First, we located the Upholstery Attachment for the vacuum cleaner. It looks like a mini version of the typical head with two strips of felt-like cloth to soften the edges.

While The Mann carefully vacuumed the surfaces of both the couch base and the cushions, I prepared a mild cleaning solution of White Vinegar, Warm Water, a 10-cent coin sized pump of liquid washing detergent, and 6-8 drops of Lavendar Essential Oil in my pink spray bottle.

Then I misted the pre-vacuumed sofa base and cushions and massaged the solution in with a clean white cloth.

At that point, the couch cushions were slightly damp to the touch. We enjoyed the relaxing scent of lavender in our room while the couch air-dried.

About an hour later, I patted the couch cushions again. All dry!!

I propped my curry puff cushion on the couch!

It's such a great feeling to have a clean new sofa in our room. Comfort-level UPPED! =DD

No time to chill yet though!

We headed downstairs to enjoy our Asian Christmas Eve dinner!
