Emigrating to Cyprus: Part 1 – The Beginning of a New Adventure!

There are times in life when adventure calls, and we must leave our comfort zone to embark on new paths. For me, this call was particularly strong when I decided to emigrate from Germany to Cyprus. Already last year, I had considered this move, inspired by my good friends who live on this picturesque island. Now, just a few days after my arrival, the adventure truly begins.

###The Decision and the First Step

Last year, during visits and through stories from my friends, the decision to move to Cyprus took shape. The idea of living under the warm Mediterranean sun, overlooking the turquoise sea, seemed irresistible. However, like any major life step, deciding to leave Germany was not easy. Leaving behind friends and family, and exchanging a familiar environment for a new, unknown one, requires courage.

###The Arrival: A New Home for Now

A few days ago, it finally happened: I landed on Cypriot soil, ready for my new life. I haven't found my own apartment yet, but fortunately, friends are offering temporary shelter. I am currently staying with a good friend who owns a house here. Another friend lives across the complex in an apartment with a breathtaking penthouse. Their support and the familial atmosphere make the transition much easier.

###First Impressions and Challenges

The first days in Cyprus are marked by a mix of excitement and uncertainty. The island's beauty and the hospitality of its residents fascinate me, yet I also feel the challenge of finding my way in a new culture and environment. I've already given up my apartment in Berlin, and now I face the task of finding a new home here in Cyprus.

###The Start of a New Chapter

My friends are a tremendous support and an anchor during this transition period. They help me navigate the new surroundings and take the first steps. But ultimately, I am now on my own, and the adventure truly begins. Finding an apartment, dealing with bureaucracy, settling in – all these tasks lie ahead. But with each day, my excitement for what is to come grows.

In the coming weeks and months, I will share my experiences and adventures in this blog. From apartment hunting to immersing myself in Cypriot culture, to the small and big adventures of everyday life – I want to bring you along on my journey.
