The aurora borealis is considered one of the most beautiful natural phenomena that nature can provide and has a close relationship with areas such as the North Pole. In fact, they almost always occur in a line of more than 2,000 km, whose center is in the north pole.

The aurora borealis is capable of extending in areas such as those mentioned below:

-Iceland.
-Greenland
-Glen.
-Scandinavia.
-Alaska.
-Siberia.
-Norway

In most cases, visitors from around the world are encouraged to visit these lands for the natural spectacle represented by the Northern Lights and the demand for tourist sites designed to observe the phenomenon is increasing. It can also occur in areas located further north or south of the auroral point of origin, although less likely. Similarly, there are other auroral zones located to the south of the pole, but it is more common to observe them with better clarity in much colder places such as the Antarctic or in the adjacent sea.

Other places where you can see the Boreas

Although it seems almost impossible, the aurora can also appear in more populated places like New Zealand or even Tasmania. The Australes and Boreal tend to happen at the same time and are quite similar. While it is true that the phenomenon is associated with winter, so is the fact that it has been proven that its appearance is throughout the year. However, certain important changes must be made in the climate and the total composition of the sky so that it can be observed in its entirety.

However, northern lights may vary in strength, which will determine whether or not they are seen.

Its projection is better based on completely dark skies and not so well on moderately illuminated ones. Although it is also known as the nocturnal aurora, due to its spectacular impact during the night, there is another name to define its appearance. In some areas of the world, winter causes the day to become night, so at the time of noon is when it is more recurrent to see the appearance of the aurora, in this case, called diurnal.

What you should consider about the northern lights

By nature, this is located well above the highest clouds, so it is essential that the skies are not cloudy to enjoy their appearance. This is usually the most common impediment for those who want to witness this natural wonder, remember that the coldest places are, often, also the wettest ones. Another important point is that there is no moon in any of its stations, since the sky will be partially or completely lit and it will be very difficult to observe the aurora borealis.

In the same way, urban areas with excess light prevent the phenomenon from being visualized, so it is advisable to situate yourself at a remote point.
