Despite extreme poverty, corruption and crisis, how is that the Philippines is still considered as one of the happiest place on earth?

Basically, the main reason why the country is entitled as the happiest place on earth is because of its people. Yes! We, the FILIPINOS! So here, I will present to you the special and award winning characterictics of the filipinos which puts the Philippines to that title.

We are contented of lifes simple blessings
Our ancestors in past are in ease with nature. They plant crops, trees, and lived with animals for sustainable food. Since the Philippines is a tropical island, it is abundant on food resources which made our ancestors happy and contented in their life. Most of the Filipinos are poor and ignorant or let's say "Mababaw ang kaligayahan". Pag may nadulas at sumemplang, pagtatawan muna bago tutulungan. Also, makakain lang nang tatlong beses sa isang araw masaya na. We are happy because of the saying "bahala na". Definitely, the majority of the happy peoples in the Philippines are the poor, not the rich because they are happy of what they have. Also, we believe that happiness is for everyone. Anyone can posses it, either your are poor or rich or corrupt. Filipinos have simple needs and has a great sense of humor.

We cling to God
History says that most Filipinos feared, trust in, and worships God. Our spirituality made us contented for what blessing God has given to us. We also think that abundance and hardships are part of the cycle of life. We hardly believes in the saying "Kung may hirap, may ginhawa" which means that if theres hardships, there are also pleasure that will be rewarded. I think its a unique combination of our strong faith to him, being carefree, our bahala na, and tomorrow is another day attitude that fuels us towards happiness.

We are Optimistic a Lot
Evidence of this is after being hit by the typhoon YOLANDA, filipinos still manage to be happy and looks for a better tomorrow. It is due to our adaptability,ability to accept, and be happy despite of struggles in life.

We have an Excellent Social Skill
Filipinos are known for being hospitable here and abroad. And we love to be social. Yes, its true! There is no place in the Philippines that doesnt have fiesta, city celebrations, and barangay occasions in a time of the year.

We live in Paradise
In many parts of the Philippines archipelago, you would discover wonderful resorts, beautiful places for vacation which gives the foreigners a satisfied trip in different parts of the country. Also, our climate with no extreme heat and no extreme cold.

We live to the Fullest
We flipinos value life. For us, life is a treasure that we must greatly enjoy and taken care of. Despite of the challenges, we cherish every moment of it. We dont depend our happiness in material things; rather the people we have in our lives.

We see life half full, not half empty.

Thats why we never run out of reasons to smile each day of our lives. We accept that life is hard. That life is not perfect. That we must learn from our mistakes. That we must live our lives to the fullest.

SUMMARY
Filipinos are generally juvelant people. As one of Bamboo’s songs goes, “Ang dami mong problema, nakuha mo pang ngumiti. Noypi ka nga. Astig!” We could be facing a lot of problems and challenges, but you can't just take away the smile off our faces. We are what we are !! And I am proud to be one!
