The need to control violence

It is possible to see a world in which there is a harmonious, peaceful and joyful environment. We can envision a place where everyone regardless of color, gender, language, religion and physical/mental condition, helps each other out and tries not to get involved in any conflict by doing wherever possible to avoid it. A young person could be helping an elderly woman to cross a high-traffic street, and a man with a big truck could be giving a ride to a group of farmers from the countryside to the closest city in order for them to buy some provisions for their families. It would be great if every single country sends food and clothing to a poor, small island because it was hit by a hurricane. Also, if everyone of us forgive our brother because he took our car without any permission, even when we find out he crashed it and now it's useless.

Most of the time we act in a completely different way. We tend to show indifference and sometimes we tend to react with violence toward a conflict or situation that we are undergoing. This is what makes us think that violence is a natural condition of human beings for some cultures throughout the world.

Although violence could be part of our human nature, and it could be triggered by exposing ourselves to violent media and by experiencing different types of conflicts, frustrations and aggression, there should always be a different type of reaction to any situation in order to be a better human being and form a better society.
