which camera lens should I buy?

Hello again!

I have a Nikon 7200 and a 50mm prime lens 1.8G. I have been wanting a zoom lens, was thinking about a 18-300mm so I could use it for more variety type of photography and so on. I know it depends on what I want but what do you guys is the best option for variety, I am a photographer of a club at University or I need a lens for different type of pics, from group to portraits and at the same time I like just taking pictures of sceneries and so on. please suggest me lenses to get !
