Almost all of us knows video games. Some of us have a one or more game apps on their smartphone. This article is all about my addiction all these years before I decide to quit. I neglect almost everything and missed out a lot of things because of playing video games. If I'm saying in this article "Game addict" I am pertaining to people who plays the game on the daily basis.

Before I begin I want to tell you that all my life I played video games since I was 5 years old. I have almost all the video game machine you could imagine. From Family Computer to Snes, to Xbox and Playstation.

As I grow older one of the games I played is Defence of the Ancient 2 or Dota.

I spend my whopping tonnes of hours of my life just playing this game.

This is the 5 things improve with my life after I quit playing the video games...

1. Travel More

I became a traveller when I quit playing games. I see the wonders of the world and had a lot of time for myself.

You cannot go anywhere if you're just sitting around in front of your TV screen playing all day. How I wish we could bring back the time and fixed all the time that I have spent in the video games.

2. Reading More Books

I became a book reader. I want to copy the mindset of the proven mentor. Many of them already died but the teaching and the learning are all in the book they have made. They don't keep it by themselves, they are sharing it. Likewise, in this blog. I am sharing it with you so we learn as well. We may benefit some from my experienced. Reading a book also started me with the mindset how entrepreneur really thinks. It opens up a lot of things on me.

3. Lots of time for Families

My wife will not again jealous because of playing video games. She tells me I don't give my precious time on her. Sometimes, it leads us to some arguments and quarrel. Lots of time are wasted just for playing, time is more important than money. Money can earn but lost time cannot be brought back.

4. Work out in the Gym

Researching about the program and dietary supplements is a way to go for the best result in the gym. Quitting the video games gives me a lot of benefits in my body. An hour or two in the gym gives me so much improvement in physical and mental health than just only staring all day at the TV screen.

5. Started blogging with the help of Steemit

What do I know about writing and blogging? With a help of steemit community and "You" who read it and support each other blog post, it was made all possible. I read other people articles and their advice and man I am telling you most of this are effective and very worth the time to learn. There maybe a wobbling at first but you catch it up sooner as you continue doing it with passion and love.

Conclusion

Playing video games is not bad at all just do it with moderation. Playing is not bad, in my opinion, but it wasn't the best thing to do either. This activity can so much addictive because it can suck you in their dimension. It far worst than watching TV all day and drinking alcohol if you get very addicted to it. Spending 12-14 hours a day, I may say that it was a ridiculously extreme problem. Every time you play, you want to become better than before, that never really happen in reality. I hope this article is useful for everyone especially who spend all of their precious life only for playing video games.

You are so right! When people are absorbed into games, they are not living life to the fullest potential or spending that precious time with loved ones. It's wonderful to hear your story of letting go of those games for healthy pursuits! Good job!!

Nice improvement bro. Video games is a waste of time and you will not learn anything useful. Instead of playing games, lets do steemit :)

Very true, it really is...

I agree with you, and I really be greatfull that steemit is exist, so doing curation on steemit change my big part time of play game. I reduce time to play online game because steemit. Nice posting! :)

the steemit community really changes a lot from me... very thankful to @ned creating this wonderful experience inside steemit...rather than playing games I am thinking that one or two hours in games can produce a valuable content blog that can improve somebodies lives....long-lived steemians!

I think playing a single game(especially an online one) constantly can become an issue. It can get a bit OCD with win/loss ratios and trying to get better every run with frustrating returns. This can spiral out of control and cause an unenjoyable time sink.

Although, there are a lot of games out there and I think its good to not write off the medium entirely and to broaden horizons as far as what you play. There's lots of great experiences out there that dont require playing 12 hours a day, every day. As people have said, moderation is key.

very true! online game is a killer, but doing it with moderation can lessen the effect of it...very well said, my friend...

Woah what an inspiration. I'm a gamers too but I'm playing it just for fun, not because of I'm addicted to it

yes, it wasn't bad at all, just with moderation... and it's fun too... having some bonding time with your friends...cheers!
