Life is very different for me. I am not like many people that I know in fact there is only one person that sees life the same way that I see it that I personally know. In my opinion life needs to be fun, joyful and full of good times. Many people agree with that statement however, when I go a little bit further to say life is not meant to be working a nine to five job everyone gets offensive or tries to tell me that they work to have things in life. I understand that in life you have to work hard to get what you want. That doesn't necessarily mean working a job. Here are my reasons why working a 9 to 5 should be something you should try to escape.

1.) Where is the true family time? Or you time?

I know many can argue with me that they get plenty of family time after work and after school but I don't believe we married and had children if that meant to have our schedule run by a boss that doesn't care about us. Working a job means we do not make our schedule we are mentally chained to the job and it is a monster eating away at our time here on earth when all we can think about is making it to the weekend. Family time means everything to me and it should to everyone else as well on top of that everyone also needs alone time aside from work to relax and rejuvenate yourself. How often do you get any of this with a 9 to 5? Is it often enough?

2.) why do you constantly think about going home at work?

Have you ever wondered why home was so important at work all the time and sometimes it is so hard to focus that you barely get work done for that day? I have thought about this a lot and I believe home is on your mind because deep down you know that you are not here on this earth to work until we cannot work anymore. Then what do we do? We retire live off of the retirement we saved or the government saved for us. Next, we die and get to say we worked hard our whole lives WOOPIE! Congratulations you have achieved nothing except for making your boss happy and making the people who do not work a 9 to 5 ten million dollars richer. (speaking about the owner of the company.) Yes I also agree you have to start somewhere which is why this blog is titled Why I hate the 9 to 5 not never get a 9 to 5.

3.) may I use the restroom?

Wow this one really gets to me and it is, why do we want to ask for time off when we really need it? How come we cannot inform our boss he/she needs to get their shit straight because you are going on vacation in a month. I do believe in giving a warning of vacation but asking is a little much. The company ran without you when you had the flu and it ran without you when you were going to college so why should a little vacation be a problem. right? Lets say there is a death in the family and we have to ask for time off? now, 9 times out of 10 your time off will be granted however, we shouldn't have to ask at all we need the off time so we don't go psycho on Carolyn in hr because our family member died and we had no time to mourn.

4.) Make me poor!

Jobs make people more poor you may make a lot of money but how is your quality of life? It is always either or, one or the other. I hate that we work so hard our whole lives to bring home food and shelter that we cannot make our families comfortable after we are gone. On the other side I hate how we have to work so hard so when we are gone our family will live comfortably. Now I understand you are going to have to work hard very hard to get comfortable however wouldn’t you rather do that making your schedule? If you had the luxury to schedule 5 vacations in one year would you? The best part is when you ditch the 9 to 5 yeah you might always be working but you get to bring your family along with you because nobody said you can’t.

In conclusion,

I know you must work hard to feed and keep your family comfortable after your gone and while you’re here. However, what about the cherish able moments? I know at my funeral I want there to be so many moments they talk about there are too many to count. I have expressed my opinion about why I hate the 9 to 5 and this world is set up to always have a boss no matter what you do. At least when you have the power to schedule time in and make your life work for you it makes it that much easier. I am not saying you have to start your own company even though that is my dream, maybe you could do your job from home a little bit further away from the bosses grips. When you work from “home” the boss doesn’t know whether your home is in your house or the local hotel in Hawaii as long as the work is turned in right? Everyone must start somewhere so a 9 to 5 is practical at first but getting free of it needs to be our goal.

Let me know what you think of this post if you agree or disagree. I will try to answer the comments thank you for reading and have a wonderful day.
