Sword of Truth FANTASTIC Fantasy Book Series

in #life7 years ago

Do you love fantasy series, like Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter? Are you looking to expand your literary activities and be able to say “yea, I read all the time?”. Well I have a recommendation for YOU!

Check out the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. The first book in the series is Wizard’s First Rule. The book is really, really good. It’s like Lord of the Rings meets Harry Potter – great sword action, great magic action, no huge sections of the book devoted to details of the landscape (ahem, Tolkien); instead, just action-packed pages. Seriously. You won’t want to stop reading these books. You’ll fall in love with the characters. You’ll feel what they feel when they are doing battle or falling in love. There are deep morals and reflections on society as well in these books. The series has it all. I find myself going about my day and thinking “I need to catch up with Richard and Kahlan!” (The main characters from the series) I’m on book three now and the series just keeps getting better.

I believe there are a lot of sites with the free pdf versions of the book if you search online, but really you can pick up the first book for 2-3 bucks on amazon and support the author. According to Wikipedia he sold the first book in the series, Wizard’s First Rule, for a quarter of a million. It was the most any first fantasy book ever sold for. And there’s a reason why! Give it a go. You won’t be disappointed.

P.S. Don’t base your opinion of the series on the TV show that follows the books because it is cringe-worthy and atrocious, but funny in a sense.
