So i thought id start off by telling everyone a little bit more about where i come from. So i was born in Albania. This is a small country in Europe, and i came to the U.S. when i was 5 years old. My parents came with $200 dollars in their pocket and now they own a house and educated me to come a Doctor.

I thought id share a little bit more about my beautiful country and what its all about.

Geography

Albania is located south-eastern europe, or as its also known in the Balkans. Albania is surrounded by Greece, Macedonia, Kosovo, Montenegro. It is next to the Adriatic sea and is also across from Italy. Albania is a very mountainous country and includes the "Albanian Alps" .

Culture

Albania is split into 3 regions: North, Central, South. Each of these has traditions and cultures of its own. I personally come from the southern region in a city called Korce. Korce's main religion is Eastern Orthodox Christianity and it has shaped the culture within the city and that's the main Church there which is shown above.

Albania's was taken over by the Ottoman empire at one point and it's culture has been impacted. There are words in Albanian who's origins are Turkish.

An Albanian traditional clothing is something similar to this photo down below. We wear this outfit and dance what is called "Valle" where we go around in a circle and dance.

In Albania as in many places in Europe, soccer is watched and loved across the whole country. Albania for the first time entered the European Tournament which included 24 of the best teams in Europe. We hope to enter the FIFA world cup in 2018 for the first time and make our small country more known!
