RE: A Single Seed: Follow Your Energy

in #life7 years ago

I love the message in this post about finding the thing that gives you energy and pursuing it, even if it is as simple as baking muffins. Finding one’s passion is so fraught with land mines, when you think about it. Here are a few that come to mind:

  • The worry that you are not as good as other people doing that thing, so why try?
  • The gut punch of discovering that the thing you proclaimed to be your passion is unfortunstely no more intriguing to you than a tin of sardines.
  • The judgement of those around you when you proclaim your passion for ... whatever it is ... and they all size you up and tell you a) that’s a big undertaking, b) wtf are you thinking and c) HA HA HA HA HA!

In other words, the pursuit of a passion can actually set you up for failure, whereas a pleasant pastime is just that. (And if you happen to be passionate about it, no one is the wiser.) 😊

You're right on all accounts! For how fun it may seem, there's a lot of risk that comes with chasing the almighty passion. Always love hearing your viewpoint!

I had never heard this particular wisdom before. What a unique perspective. It makes so much sense! Thanks for sharing this post. It really made me think!
