Photo Assignment: Framing Eye Candy!

in #life7 years ago (edited)

Photography is about composition. It's not enough to just point a camera at a subject, set the camera to automatic and hope for the best, a photographer must understand the elements of composing an image to get the most from a given experience. Framing is the process of actualizing proper composition of memorable photos.

Framing techniques can be considered subjective, what one person finds interesting another person may find meaningless. The rules for framing video or film are basically the same as the rules that apply for still photography.

A few good rules for proper framing are about following horizontal and vertical lines. Making sure horizons are level or building edges are straight vertically in the frame up and down. This is a good way to help Gage framing when shooting an image. The rule of thirds also applies when framing as it does when considering composition of a photo.

When presenting an image everything in the frame helps to tell the story and is important although the subject is usually the primary focus of a photo when considering framing, many factors should be kept in mind.

Having objects in a photo is usually undesirable. For example, a photo of an artist holding a guitar where the neck of the guitar is missing is not a good look when framing an image. Paying attention to the edge of the frame is a good way to avoid cutting off objects when shooting a photo. There are certain parts the bottom of the frame that can be cut off without looking strange, a photographer can get away with it in many cases, having an object in a photo is just about knowing what looks awkward and what doesn't.

Trying to get an interesting and unusual shot when framing a photo is the ultimate goal. Many photos will look straight and normal from the perspective of an adult at eye level. So don't be afraid to get dirty and down on your belly or lie on your back to shoot something up words if need be. Photography is about being creative and dynamic, not static ;D

Meet Nico Rinaldi!

Personally, I have been a photographer for at least 15 years now, after learning about Nico over the last couple of week's while I was doing research for this post I came across a technique Nico was using that I had never heard of before called "Timeblendings"which I have to say kind of blew my mind when I learned how they were made.

Nico also enjoys long exposure photography as well as shooting at night, maintaining and honoring classic technique to capture an honest image. Mr Rinaldi based on the quality of his work seems to have a deep love for post-processing and is exceptionally brilliant at it, as demonstrated by the series of images I've shared on this blog.

NicoRinaldi is a very generous and fantastic sport who is willing to offer advice and expertise as well as professional service for anyone who is interested. Nico is an artist who is open and willing to experience new collaborations or an artistic project. It is hard not to love a photographer with this kind of an attitude and spirit.

Meet ces@r_!

I know very little about ces@r_ who is an artist shooting out of Madrid. The collection of images presented by photographer ces@r_ who has been shooting since about 2010 from what I can gather is brilliant not only from a color, tone and subject perspective, the framing is outstanding in every single image without exception. It was actually a challenge to limit my selection of images to 10 for this post! Life is rough sometimes when I have a good thing, that I know will inevitably end, when what I would really love the most is to see a good thing just keep going ;p

Meet Jay Huang!

Photographer Jay Haung is a landscape photographer who has a career as a finance professional, Jay considers himself to be a self learner.

Jay says he's always looking to learn more and improve on his photography style. Jay looks forward to constructive critique or comments for his collection of images. Although it is often said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, it is obvious from Jays work there is a plenty of beauty in the eyes of artist Mr Haung.

The general quality, tone, detail and color in the images from Jays portfolio are eye catching. There was a photo in the series of images I curated for this post below of a pathway of golden leaves that had fallen onto a walkway in the autumn, that brought me right back a memory from a place and a time I have probably never experienced with respect to the specific photo, however for my own life it brought me back to many memories including the smell of leaves in the fall and a photo that can trigger a memory of a place I have never been to is a photographer who understands how to present an image that the viewer can connect with regardless of who they are and where they come from. That is exactly the kind magic Photographer Jay Haung bring to the table.

Thanks for this set of awe-inspiring photos! I don't understand what tools were used in the video but it's a common problem when the sky is gray and uninteresting but you have no other chances to take a shot. I never thought the sky can be 'replaced' entirely! Thanks for sharing.

cool work, full upvote from me...:))

I am amazed at you @jazminmillion, all the photos on this blog caught my attention, not the quality of your camera that made me attract attention, but the photographer's expertise that is not owned by everyone, amongst these is what makes my eyes staring.

@jazminmillion.
I follow every post you.

I see you have several pictures of where I'm from, Norway! Awesome :D

A photographer need to determine a caption before taking the frontage,

Wow man are these photographs even real. These are outstanding, I mean I can't believe these photographs. Lovely outstanding stuff.
In photography there is a reality so subtle that it becomes more real than reality.
Keep up the good work. Thanks for sharing.

That's Amzing Job u done @jazminmillion
i really like ur work upvote from me and as always resteem..
i need ur support to grow in steemit thanks..

Great work! People think that because you have a good camera and great lenses you automatically produce good photos, they don't realise there is a formula and many years of practice, learning from mistakes, composition, rule of thirds, attracting the perfect light etc. Many factors involved and it shows when you compare your photos to the general norm.

from my heart i say it loud you have best and loving heart to do this. travel, write and read is best and nature loving jobs and passions that we do with help of nature. @jazminmillion thanks mate u made my day.

I always am of the fact that capturing any image and its result is just not boundary to the camera only. Its the one who captures the thing, the cameraman or the Photographer , its his peace of mind and his will to get the best shot out of any possibility. His sheer dedication and willingness to see the things around him is utterly different from so many people. His mind, thought process and the immaculate eye is the reason behind the click. Amazing skills these are mostly God Gifted.
