INTO LIFE'S DEPTHS, SLEEP-AWAY

INTO LIFE'S DEPTHS

Fall. Do not be afraid to land.
Feel your body slam against the cold.
As it splurges and stings against your flesh.
Lose ur grip, even if it means you may drown.

Fall. Do not be afraid to fly.
Hear the wind rushing through your ears.
And the blood surging through your veins.
Spread your arms, but don't let this moment slip.

Fall. Do not be afraid at all.
Watch the horizons rise above your fears.
Take a chance and fall into life's depth.
Close your eyes, for now, you are alive

SLEEP-AWAY

The slumbering man hears no one.
The sound of his snore a melody to his ears.
That he shuts off the chirping birds.
That the rooster cannot wake him.

The slumbering man feels so void.
He is lost in a dream of false warmth.
For he sleeps in a maze, naked and cold.
A prisoner of his own creation.

He staggers throughout his lifetime.
Drowsed on this ethereal stage of life.
Every so often he stumbles and falls.
And wails in despair "God why me"?

The slumbering man has his eyes closed.
He sees not the sun, not the stars, nor the moon.
He hears not his inner voice scream "Wake up!"
For in his everlasting dream, he slips away.
