Why Do We Need Trustable and Accurate Information?
I came across an “expired” article written about the news of an antihypertensive drug withdraw from market due to the production error in a social media platform. It happens around one year ago but people still share this news and create unnecessary issue. The issue has been solved since long time ago but still people spreading the words. Some people just don’t care whether the news is updated accurate and trustable before they share the article. For me, this is an irresponsible act. With the convenience of Internet nowadays, people can spread a news worldwide within seconds. If we didn’t think and filter out the inaccurate information, it can be misleading to public.
Nowadays there are too many information available on the internet at your fingertips. However, not all information is trustworthy. People can easily write something on the internet and spread rumors. This is especially true in social media platform. Part of the reason is that less regulations implemented to control the freedom of posting in social media.
Stop pretending to know things you don’t know
Another thing that I find it quite annoying is people pretend to know something even though they don’t really understand about it. If you don’t know about it, that’s fine. We can ask people who specialize in that field and learn from them. It can reduce the possibility of spreading wrong information because the information you obtained is what you heard from someone who might heard from others as well. The meanings might be twisted when the same information pass through few peoples.
People might be spreading inaccurate information for their own benefit only.
This can usually be seen when salesperson want to push their product and prove to their client how good is their product. You can highlight the benefits and features of the product only if all the information is correct. This is especially true when it comes to medication and nutritional products. Because this can affect your health for future few decades. One might think that spreading wrong information is just a small thing. But it can lead to severe implication if the reader spread your words to another few people.
An interesting article. Well done for good content.
Thank you for your feedback =)
many people are looking for quality information or articles without any errors in it, it is needed in a tolerance. Nice @jiashin
You are right. Errors and misleading information is the last thing we want in an article
Yeah, a lot of BS and fake news that looks legitimate gets spread all over a lot, especially on facebook, I see a lot of garbage there that its not even funny. I learn from my time on the internet is to question everything and look through multiple sources and read on them to determine if its legitimate or BS. Great post and thanks for sharing this information with us! :)
Agree. I always look at the source before I read on the content, it is just wasting of time if the source is not trustworthy
Yeah thats true. Especially if the source is from a trolling website lol
