My Internship Experience: Thoughts and Fears
Hello guys, in today’s post I wanted to share my first day working as an intern and why I think internships can improve your skills has a future worker.
I’m currently an intern in an event creation company named No More. It is a Portuguese renowned company due to the fact that it works with the best events in Portugal such as Lisboa Fashion Week, Porto Fashion, Porto Wine, the Portuguese Oscars and it also as partnerships with Superbock and many other companies.
I need to complete 360 hours of work, and since I started toda, Iwill be doing a total of 20 hours weekly and will end my internship on the 27th of June.
My first day was a great one! My internship tutor is a very pleasant lady and she was quick to introduce me to everyone and show me the facilities. They welcomed me straight away and I can already feel this Is going to be an amazing journey. They were quick to give me tasks and I have to do a presentation for the University of oPorto, because they are doing a gala to celebrate the existence of the biggest university in Portugal. Could you imagine that? My first work is to build a presentation of a proposal to the biggest university in Portugal… Crazy right?
But I feel it is for the best, I’m currently in my last year of university and after that, comes my entrance to the world of work.
I want to enter that new phase of my life with the right tools to be as successful as I can and this is the right company to provide me with those tools. I think that working hard and having a lot to do isn’t bad at all, it gives you a better chance of achieving your goals if you set them as high as I do!
I think that internships are one of the best preparations for the world of work, as they can build you or brake you, and for some people that’s their first contact on how a company really works.
