Are modern day office workers POD PEOPLE?

Remember that scene in the Matrix when Neo wakes up to find himself inside a gooey pod?

As I walked around my cubicled office workplace today I couldn't help but ponder "Are we pod people?"

It's as if most all my co-workers are plugged into the Matrix with their eyeballs glued to the screen and ear buds stuffed into their ears, closed off from external stimuli. When we emerge from the building out into the sun our eyeballs re-adjust along with our minds and our mood. It's a peculiar thing, the modern corporate working world.

Random bro at a party: "Hi! What do you do?"
Me: "I'm a slave at the Slave Factory!"

One could argue we have been cut off from our genetic memory, unable to gain triggered access to instincts stored within us. When we gather around a camp fire, walk barefoot on the grass, etc. our primal instincts surface to reveal the way our ancestors lived long before us.

This written piece is merely food for thought.
