The New Year 2018 is here, and as usual, people all over the world celebrate the outgoing year while welcoming the new with all pomp and pageantry. New Year resolutions will be put in place and goals set. If you want to make the most of the year 2018, then follow these tips and advices.

You need to sit down and ask some questions: ask ‘why’ and ‘what’ to help you figure out what is important and what is not. This will give you the motivational and emotional energy to keep forging ahead when you come across obstacles when pursuing a 2018 goal.

Secondly, be prepared to make adjustments as you implement your goals and plans for 2018. You may end up learning something new that will supply raw data that you will need to bring your plans to fruition. So be willing to adjust your goals accordingly so that you don’t fail. Most of the times, plans do not remain the same and may need to be modified or scrapped altogether. Be persistent about your vision, but let your ideas be flexible.

The year 2018 should not just be about yourself and what you want to achieve. You should make plans on how to make impacts on people’s lives.

You should give room to influence others without expecting anything in return. This is the perfect elixir that will light up your year as 2018 rolls by. Never allow a single day to roll by without touching or influencing the life of someone who will not able to repay you.

Everyone has bad habits that stop them from being the best they want to be. What is yours? Have you identified it or them?

Maybe yours is procrastination, or it could be spending unnecessarily on alcoholic beverages. Make daily to-do lists that must be met and accomplished at the end of the day with a little time for breathers in-between. Drastically cut down your excesses on drinks and channel that time you spend in a bar towards reading up a business book or attending night classes to update yourself.

Attaining goals or objectives is never easy; if it were, everyone would be successful. Therefore, you need to get rid of behaviors and activities from your life so that you don’t end the year 2018 the same way you finished 2017.

Do not concentrate your goals on just your career; spread them to include your friends, family, fitness, hobbies, etc. Don’t ever compare yourself to any other person, you are unique, and you are answerable to no one. The only person you are accountable to is your life coach with whom you can share your goals or plans and be committed to reporting at regular intervals to showcase your progress.

Now all the points listed above will be nothing if you don’t learn how to discipline yourself.

A lot of people lead undisciplined lives and end up not following hard after their life goals and plans they have put in place at the beginning of the year. Therefore, dream big, but make painstaking plans to achieve them.

Happy New Year & Good luck!

I remember reading somewhere how NY resolutions are actually bad for our health

Really? Didn't know that! that's strange @journeyoflife

Balancing time to achieve success in all that you are pursuing is indeed important and i would be working out on that... Thanks a lot for the tips..

Discipline and procrastination were a bad trade that i have over the years, but 3 years ago i sat down and rethink what is bad and good on my movement to become successful, and this were the ugly ones that i need to take control of it and im proud that i have overcome it now.

And helping others would be my first priority as well, as after i join steemit, the feeling of community and bonding is apparently being more joyful than ever.. :)

Instead of giving yourself a deadline to accomplish a particular goal by (and then feeling like a failure if you don’t achieve it), you should choose a goal that is important to you and then set a schedule to work towards it consistently

Such an interesting quoate.

Hard work and consistency always pay off. One should follow his/her aims with out the affects of the environmental factors. Many hurdles come when you're going to achieve something big. Passion can eat all such hurdles with an ease.

A very inspirational & well written blog which can change the destiny of many in 2018, Thanks @jwolf

Stay Blessed, Steem On!

You read much of Tony Robbins stuff? I think he is a great motivator and coach, so inspirational to hear him speak. I have read most of his stuff and even watched his netflix documentary. Afterwards its hard not to be motivated. Lets crush 2018 my friend

You still have time for steemit? You really know how to organize your time. thanks for sharing @jwolf

All growth depends upon activity. There is no development physically or intellectually without effort, and effort means work.

Thanks for your advice. Family is the most important with me. Last year I was too busy. In 2018 I will spend my time to take care my parent :).

Great post again, man!
Let 2018 be successful and give your best to continue doing this job.
Work hard, believe, succeed!!!

I hear you @jwolf and I will pick pieces of advice that will propel me to the next level. However, discipline has always been a virtue in my planning. Thanks for sharing!
