“Peacocks don’t have sex. Cow dung saves you from cosmic radiation.” Indian judge passes judgement

in #life8 years ago

At a hearing in Rajasthan state’s high court Wednesday, Judge Mahesh Chandra Sharma gave some hilarious judgements in response to an NGO’s petition on the condition of state-run cow shelters. Equating the piousness of a cow to that of a peacock, the judge gave some abso-fuckin'-lutely absurd statements.

Peacocks don’t have sex, but rather shed tears to conceive.

“The peacock is a lifelong celibate. It never has sex with the peahen. The peahen gets pregnant after swallowing the tears of the peacock,” said judge Sharma

About cows, the judge said
“Cow is the only animal that inhales as well as exhales oxygen,”

Add to that, “Cow urine has the miraculous property of destroying any kind of germs. It provides strength to mind and heart. It stops ageing,” he said, adding that its horns “acquire cosmic energy”.

Also, “Houses plastered with cow dung are safe from radio waves.”

It was the last day before retirement for Judge Sharma. Let's just say he's made sure he won't be forgotten soon.

It's really unfortunate that people at the helm like High Court Judges and Ministers utter such reckless statements in 21st century. However, I, myself, am of the opinion that cow-dung may safeguard from radiations to some extent. Do you have any studies to counter this? Especially, the Nigerian study which confirmed the absorption of gamma rays for the bricks made from some percentage of cow-dung as an ingredient or any other independent or peer-reviewed research on this subject?
