MyThoughts: Reward for Good behavior… Right or Wrong
Good day folks, i wish to share an issue with you guys and I want to hear what you guys feel about this matter. I was in a family gathering some days ago and the father of the house was about to travel for some days, the kids as usual don’t want their father to go, so the father went on a knee and speaking in a soft tone, said to the kids that while he is away, the kids should be of good behavior and he (the father) would reward them with a gift when he comes back; this actually brightened the spirit of the kids.
Although, this act might not mean anything, but I was just thinking if it is right to attach gift reward to good behavior, what if the reward is taken away, can the kids still act in the acceptable manner?
I see the act as a way of grooming the kids to become accustomed to getting rewards before or after an obligation which I felt might eventually lead to the kids in future taking such acts to another level in their educational life, career path etc. Kids should be made to understand good behavior is compulsory and necessary, they should be made to see why they have to be of good behavior and not because they would get a gift for acting right.
Well it’s me just thinking out loud, but would still appreciate your sincere view on this.

In totality, i disagree with constantly attached gift for good behaviour. But i think in most cases it also encourage good behaviour because when we were young, my dad use to use vacation to enthiles us to get good result in school. So if you didnt do well then no vacation. And in most cases it works. Thanks @tybello
