YOLO... You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough. Life is like a coin. You can spend it any way you wish. But you only SPEND IT ONCE. Life is a dream for the wise, a game for the fool, a comedy for the rich, and a tragedy for the poor. Life goes on, whether you choose to move on and take a chance in the unknown, or stay locked in the past, thinking about what could’ve been. So open up your eyes, look within. Are you satisfied with the life you’re living?
In order to truly understand the meaning of life, you should first start thinking about how to LIVE THE MOMENT. Many people don’t give themselves enough time to think about what they’ve done, and what needs to be done. Those are the people who need to learn how to live for themselves before living for others. Life is too short, so make the best of what you can. Believe in yourself, trust who you are, and bring happiness to others, because we don’t remember days, we remember moments.
Acceptance is the key of life. Accept what you are able to do and what you are not able to do; accept the past as past, without denying or discarding it; learn to forgive yourself and to forgive others; don’t assume that it’s too late to get involved. On the other hand, acceptance doesn’t mean giving up, it doesn’t mean relying on others to do the work for you. For example, when you fail at a certain job, you don’t just give up; saying that you accepted your failure; but, in fact, you should try and work even harder to achieve better results.
Learning how to live is an essential part in knowing the meaning of life. Life is like a camera, Focus on what’s important; Capture the good times; develop from the negatives, and if things don’t work out, take another shot. Death, on the other hand, isn’t accepted by many. Although everyone knows they’re going to die, nobody believes it. If we did, we would do things differently. Acknowledging that you’re going to die, and being prepared for it at any time, is better. That way you can actually be more involved in your life while you’re living because once you understand that you HAVE to die, you learn how to live. Most of us all walk around as if we’re sleep-walking. We really don’t experience the world fully, because we’re half-asleep, doing things we automatically think we have to do. Remember, dying is not synonymous with being useless.
So many people walk around with a meaningless life. They seem half-asleep, even when they’re busy doing things they think are important. This is because they’re chasing the wrong things. The way you bring meaning into your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning.
You’ll never be brave if you don’t get hurt. You’ll never learn if you don’t make mistakes. You’ll never be successful if you don’t encounter failure. Learning to trust is one of life’s most difficult tasks. Trust is like a paper, when it’s crumpled, it can’t be perfect; sometimes when you cannot believe what you see, you have to believe what you feel. And if you are ever going to have other people trust you, you must feel that you can trust them too - even when you’re in the dark; Even when you are falling.
Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breaths away. Life is not just about growing up and getting older; Life is about using that time in something useful. People might be afraid to grow old because in their opinion, growing older means you’re getting closer to death. However, as you grow older, you learn more. If you stayed at ten, you’d always be as ignorant as you were at ten. Aging is not just decay, it’s growth. It’s more than the negative that you’re going to die, it’s also the positive that you understand you’re going to die, and that you live a better life because of it. You might’ve heard others say ‘Oh, if I were young again’, but you never hear people saying ‘I wish I was sixty-five’, why is that? Well, that just reflects unsatisfied lives. Unfulfilled lives. lives that haven’t found meaning. If you’ve found meaning in your life, you don’t want to go back. You want to go forward. You want to see more and do more. Once again, the issue isn’t about getting older, it’s about accepting who you are and revelling in that. You have to find what’s good, true, and beautiful in your life as it is now. Going back makes you competitive. Age is certainly not a competitive issue.
Be yourself; don’t change for the sake of others. If you’re trying to show off for people at the top, forget it. They will look down at you anyhow. If you’re trying to show off for people at the bottom, forget it. They will only envy you. Status will get you nowhere. Only an open heart will allow you to float equally among everyone. Do the kinds of things that come from the heart. When you do, you won’t be dissatisfied, you won’t be envious, you won’t be longing for someone else’s things. On the contrary, you’ll be overwhelmed by what comes back. And remember, life isn’t about finding yourself, it’s about creating yourself.
