Childrens Playing Marbles Traditional Games - Sumatra Series
Marbles games or 'Main Kelereng' is a traditional games that are very exciting to play in childhood. It will be good if played by several player. Or at least 2 players. The main concept of this game is to put together a number of marbles on the ground in the middle of the field, and then take turns shooting from a certain distance until someone is successful hit the target. The winner is the one who firstly hit all that marbles in whether in one step or several steps. The prize for the winner is all the marbles in the middle of the field can be taken home. : D Usually, children play it up to several sessions until they are bored or because they are called by their mother, or because its late afternoon already.
Nowadays very rarely children play outdoor games like this. This game itself was very popular in the 80's - 90's my childhood and then more days after in millennial times children were more familiar with games from gadgets and sitting at home. When playing this marbles game, children will sweat with a warm indonesian climate and humid and dirty at hands and clothes. Also it's fun to meet and chat with playmates at the game directly and have fun good socially.
What is really sad is when a player lost all his marbles so he need some new marbles :D but sometimes his friends is giving back a few marbles to chillin' his broken heart :D
Focus and try to reach the target.
A boy named Haikal show me his favourit or 'gacok' marble
Counting and picking nice marbles.
Some marbles are a beautiful glass ball.
He wins some marbles :D
Thank you for reading my post and follow me @khey
Oww, this brings back some good memories!!
Thank You for sharing this, it makes me happy to see some kids in the world playing good games, spending some time together having fun without wi-fi, computers, and such.. Thank You so much for this!!
You 're welcome! Yes agree with that, they are happy playing outdoor just like kids they should be. And play it almost everyday!
Thank You =D
I wish my kids were like that, but they only care about their smart phone and everything that doesn't matter =S .. when they spent time with me we used to go take long walks in the small bits of nature not destroyed by "the city" around here, and they used to love it, now most of it have been torn apart, and school, society(western society in this case), kind of took them astray =(
Well, it does warm my heart to see that not everything is lost, really appreciate this post, it works as an example, I remember learning some physics playing marbles, spinning top, jumping ropes, and just as You said, social skills..
(guess I'm feeling old or something like that..)
Have a nice weekend end, In Lak'ech Ala k'in
