The growing child poverty !

in #life8 years ago

We find poverty everywhere around the globe, in under-developed countries, medium-developed countries or developed countries, of course, that is in different percentage, in different shapes, and in different reasons. But the essence is the same, a sad reality, painful, which we live daily, every time we go outside, go to the cinema, to the mall, we see the poor children and by looking at them we understand their pain.

As we all know, good nutrition is an important factor for our children especially for establishing the good foundation that has implications for child’s future physical and mental health. Unfortunately, hunger is an uprising problem showed by the World Health Organisation (WHO). There are over seventy million children that are unable to consistently access enough nutritious food necessary for their health.
According to the Department of Agriculture, 13.1 million children under 18 in the United States lived in food-insecure households in 2015 which is an outrageous number. 20 percent or even more of the child population in 30 states or D.C lived in food-insecure households. Even though food insecurity in most commonly in large cities, it still exists in rural areas and suburbs.

Did you know that one in every five children in America faces hunger and one in every four children around the world face chronic malnutrition that stunts growth both physically and mentally? Ending world hunger is an issue that many organizations are trying to resolve. There are over one thousand organizations trying to end world hunger by gathering money through donations, but in spite of all the efforts these organizations are unable to keep up with the demand.
SNAP is the most important anti-hunger around the world corporation that has shown big results. It offers nutritionally adequate diet to a large number of people with low-income.
Another good example is WIC which has special nutrition programs for women, infants, and children. It provides nutrition food for children and infants under the age of five who are put at the nutrition risk.

Let’s go back when we were children, some of us had everything, some of us didn’t. I personally was a lucky have had everything so what is the pain we do not know, but when we see poor children around, it breaks the heart.
Children not getting enough food - the major seen is the poverty line. Near about 50 percent of the world, population earns $2.50 per day. And if you think that’s bad, more than 1.3 billion people live in extreme poverty, earning less than 1.50$ per day.

According to UNICEF, over 1 billion children worldwide don’t have enough food! Sadly, 22.000 children die each day due to poverty. Approximately 70 percent of the world population earns less than $10 which is the major cause of poverty , and this is not enough to buy you, your child, a good nutrition!

Poverty and hunger is ever increasing with the rise in population, certain measures have to be taken seriously in order to reduce poverty and hunger worldwide, that being said, it’s a fact that hunger is the number one cause of death in the world, making more victims than HIV/AIDS, malaria, and even tuberculosis combined!

Very sad story.
Billions of people hwve nothing to eat, but 1% of population have all the world in theirs pockets.
Hydroponics and aquaponics can solve part of this problem.
But people needs fundings to build them.
