Intelligence of Security Service Act
Today is the biggest day for Dutch people, it's the day of the local authority elections and the day of the referendum 'Intelligence and Security Services Act (WIV)'.
All Dutch inhabitants above 17 years are going to vote for their local authority and also for the referendum, but what is that referendum? And let's take a time and think about yourself, would you rather be safe or keep your privacy by yourself?
The referendum is all about the question about your privacy and safety, there are a bunch of opinions. The referendum will give the Public Prosecution Service the permission to have more acces to get into the internet activities of the Dutch inhabitants. Some people are against this referendum because they don't want anyone know about their activities on the internet and there are also people who are fine with that.
They rather be safe than sorry, it's important to be safe and the law won't be too harsh for the unguilty inhabitants. Since the government are working on the laws to get more safety for their inhabitants, so if the new law WIV is coming to our country. Because the polices and other security staff won't have access to all activities of everyone without permission from a higher authority. there will be new laws in terms of inhabitants trust towards the government. Some people are afraid for misfeasance, they're afraid of the fact that the government will get the access to all of the inhabitants, whether they're guilty or innocent.
My opinion about this referendum is positive because I choose safety above my privacy.
What is your opinion? Do you choose safety above your privacy or the other way around?
