6 Ways Corporate Democrats Gave Trump A Dictator’s Toolkit
I just published this at TruthDig.com. I own the rights.
My longtime arch nemesis, the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) - which I thought we had vanquished after years of stabbing, kicking, and choking it - may now be rising from the dead like a zombie, like a vampire, like a Jeff Sessions. And this is yet another sign that the so-called Democratic “Resistance” is a joke so big it has to buy two airplane seats. ...Let me explain.
The TPP was the largest trade deal ever conceived. It was created under Obama, hashed out in secrecy by corporate lawyers, involved 12 countries and would’ve gone through except that Donald Trump promised during his campaign he would not sign it. So then when he got into office, he stuck to that promise. But don’t kid yourself into thinking he trashed it because he had some sort strong economic understanding of how harmful this beast would’ve been to the working class, nor that he just cared a lot for the environment and the people it would have hurt. No, not at all. He wasn’t sobbing at his desk thinking about the young child getting paid pennies a day because corporations can exploit everyone freely. Instead, Trump binned it because a bunch of people on Twitter yelled at him, and he thought, “Whatever they said - I’ll do that. Plus, it will piss off Obama.”
So, as idiots and paint chip nibblers are known to do - Trump did something good for all the wrong reasons. That’s pretty much the case every time he does something good. Anyway, now Australia is pressing Donald to rejoin the TPP. And recently Trump said he “would do the TPP if it were a much better deal.” There’s also the risk that Trump and friends will basically just rename the TPP something else. You know, rebrand it so the American people will stop complaining. Instead of “Trans-Pacific Partnership,” it will become the “Trans-Fats Are Tasty Partnership,” and Americans will think, “That sounds good. You mean like Oreos and stuff? Like Double-Stuffed Oreos and stuff? Mmmmmmm, stuffffff.”
Of course this raises the questions, What does “a better deal” even mean to Trump? You know he’s not going to read the fucking thing; it’s thousands of pages long! They can’t even get him to finish reading the sign that says, “Please use other door.” He’ll just sit there pushing on the locked one for hours until a White House aide is sent to retrieve him. He’s also renegotiating NAFTA to “get us a better deal,” which is like hiring an empty shoebox to renegotiate your mortgage. And keep in mind, NAFTA was not just a disaster for your average American, it was a disaster for your average Mexican too, which caused a lot of the migration to the United States that Trump supporters and run-of-the-mill racists love to complain about. NAFTA allowed U.S. corporations to crush Mexican farmers, and all of a sudden trekking through the deadly desert to America seemed like a nice option.
So, what does this have to do with the so-called Democratic “resistance”? Well, there’s a reason Trump has such an outsized trade authority - a reason your mainstream media would rather you forget. Obama handed this trade authority to Trump on silver platter. Back in 2015, Congress - under pressure from the Obama administration - voted to give the president, any president, unlimited trade authority for the next six years. This means Congress cannot change a WORD of any trade deal Trump approves. This is yet another way the corporate-owned Democrats have furthered and supported Donald Trump EVERY STEP OF THE WAY. They try to act like the “Resistance,” but they’re not resisting anything. They put up as much resistance as a pussy willow puts up to a dump truck of steaming shit going 70 miles an hour down the highway. Out of their face-holes they say, “We need to stop this madman!” Then if you look at what they’re doing with their hands, they’re trying desperately to prop him up, make him stronger, give him every fucking power a unitary executive can have!
Think about this: besides unlimited trade authority, many Democrats also voted to continue to give Trump unlimited war powers with the AUMF! Thirteen Democratic senators voted to continue to have Congressional NO oversight over Trump’s wars. So remember that next time Jean Shaheen, Claire McCaskill, Mark Warner, or Sheldon Whitehouse try to tell you they’re part of the Resistance. No, they’re part of the “freesistance” - giving Trump a free pass for unlimited war. They’re paid employees of the war profiteers. Having the word “Senator” before your name just means you’re one of the more highly paid employees. It just means you have a bathroom that others aren’t allowed to use. Do you think while they’re pissing privately, they can feel their soul swirling down the drain?
A few weeks ago Congress passed a spending bill that took away the remaining congressional oversight of the Intelligence Community. Before that, they voted to continue giving Trump unlimited surveillance abilities. According to The Intercept, “LEADING THE CHARGE against reforms of the FBI’s domestic spying powers was Rep. Adam Schiff of California, the ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee who, in countless TV appearances, has strongly insinuated, if not outright stated, that Trump is controlled by and loyal to Russian President Vladimir Putin.”
Huh, that’s interesting. If Schiff believes Trump is controlled by Putin, which would be treasonous, then you would think Schiff must really not want Trump to have a dictator’s toolbox. Yet, Schiff has fought for Trump to have unlimited spying abilities, unlimited war powers, and unlimited trade authority (which means unlimited rights to cede our nation’s sovereignty to corporations). Wow, it almost sounds like Schiff is just saying that stuff about Putin because it looks good to be “part of the resistance.”
By the way, it’s not like Schiff sheepishly voted for these surveillance powers. “In demanding rejection of the warrant requirement safeguard, Schiff channeled Dick Cheney - and the Trump White House - in warning that any warrant requirements would constitute ‘a crippling requirement in national security and terrorism cases.’”
So just to sum up here, the Democrats have helped, voted for, and often argued in favor of all of the following -
1) Giving Trump unlimited war powers
2) Giving Trump unlimited trade negotiation powers
3) Giving Trump unlimited surveillance powers
4) Giving Trump the power to lock someone up indefinitely without a trial or charges under NDAA
5) Giving Trump the power to assassinate American citizens without a trial or charges
6) Giving Trump’s administration full control of our election system infrastructure
If this is considered “resistance,” then I don’t want to be a part of it. I’d rather spend my time resisting the “Resistance” and thereby taking this dictator’s toolkit away from Donald Trump.
As our lord and savior George Carlin said, “It’s a big club, and you ain’t in it.” Schiff is corrupt and working for corporate America and Wall Street. Trump is corrupt and working for corporate America and Wall Street. 95% of the Democratic congresspeople are corrupt and working for corporate America and Wall Street. 99% of the Republicans are corrupt and working for corporate America and Wall Street. Do not expect them to save us. We cannot look to inverted totalitarianism to save us from inverted totalitarianism. The ruling elite will let us die, and then charge us for the coffins. We need to organize on the local level. Change things in our states and cities, where it’s still corrupt but a little bit less so. Don’t wait for their permission to make a better world.

Please let me know if I missed some of the big ways the corporate Dems empower Trump everyday.
@leecamp, well "big" is a relative word, however i think it's fair to assume that you missed plenty of ways the CorpDems are empowering Trump everyday. This is not your fault as the character limits for SteemIt posts would not permit an exhaustive list, nor would the reply posts so I won't bother to append to your list.
The bigger problem, which you address often and quite thoroughly, is this illusion of 2 competing parties. I think we need new language (hey, you're a fucking satirist, get working on this will you ! ;), something that is really catchy and goes beyond things like "the 2 wings of the corporate party", the corporatocracy, etc.
We need something more fundamental, more basic, something that truly resonates with people who are infrequent and/or shallow participants within the political space. We need to do a better job articulating that there are loosely joined, common interests floating above the illusory political battlefield that are governing the governors and creating this big socio-economic spectacle. A spectacle where happy little Americans dig in (competitive spirit and all), takes side, and invest their emotional capital in the rigged game. Theses fans, blind to the real workings of the system all bet on their silly little fraud (their team, their tribe!) to win them the day and deliver a partisan victory. Game over, sports analogy complete. But this perceived victory is not "the peoples". It is part of a bigger plan that addresses the needs, wants and interests of the elitist powers behind the scenes, not in a conspiratorial way, just in a sober practical manner because of their interests, social circles, etc align and they have naturally common goals/objectives.
I don't know what the new language is, but we need to do a better job shaking people out of the illusion that voting for their silly little team is going to result in the sort of massive change we need to save our wobbling empire from itself.
I
Yes, I hoped this article would help show that these are not two parties but instead two wings of the same bird.
I agree we need a new language a better use of the English language at least - because words Conjuring up images in people's minds and those images Drive our emotions and actions..
If people knew that we were all related that we are all Africans - who migrated and changed physical features depending upon how many generations we have migrated away from or towards the equator..
Ahh but happy little Americans Dig In to the idea that if we are brown we are black like night evil and the hat the bad guys wear while if we are light pink beige we are white like light pure snow and a lot of good things associated with wearing a white hat..
And of course people born into a system where they're advantaged do not want to be equal while those who are disadvantaged do..
A satirist or comedian should be able to find funny ways to f*** with people's misconceptions about who they are or people's plans to perpetrate a fraud knowingly in order to maintain social economic political advantage..
Once a discussion in the mainstream media about mitochondrial eve begins - whether it's around ancestry.com or through some honest discussion about the difference between light pink light beige light brown tan dark brown black and white.. it will be hard for people to use the divisive language of black and white to describe light pink beige and dark skinned Africans who migrated Out of Africa at different times and arrived here in this land featuring different skin colors but being the same race without knowing it..
Indigenous are not supposed to be living on reservations there supposed to be living their way of life and having an equal influence as all other ethnicities here in the United States.
We should talk about how Europe is not a separate continent from Asia it's part of Eurasia
Facts and Truth can be funny
To corrupt government and corporate officials and the ignorant masses at the same time.. - but I understand it's hard to do. I'm trying to do that in song ..
"It's not what you say but how you say it" -?
Lol
Thanks for passing by [& inviting me to your show ] that day Lee. ❤
I don't think it was Trump that strong armed the Dems into giving Trump what they have. Considering it's a mostly military cabinet he has, i think they were either strong armed into it, or black mailed. To me it's never the residing president that makes the decisions anyways, no matter what he says or tweets. Its those who control the string attached to him that do. And it's up to us, the "common" man/woman to cut those strings. and you're right - we DO need to start at the local level. Been saying that for a long while now, but i always got shot down. It's the only way to ever get any change in a corrupt world.
You're not the only one who feels that way.. that's a fairly good articulation of the circumstances..
I think the people should be in control of the strings instead of having to cut the strings the 1% uses to control government..
But since wealthy so-called white man and Government Act in concert to serve both to discriminate against ethnic minorities and women while maintaining benefits and advantages for themselves..
I'm sorry I was hacked! I have deleted the spam and working on clean up! xo
The above comment is from a hacked account. This person is not purposefully spamming you.
Stop filling the place up with Dems and Pubs. Somehow people can't wake up to that fact.
Let's just keep doing the same thing over and over and see if that works
You left out citizens united and the ending of Dodd Frank.
Aside from that, arming police with military gear and keeping secret black site prisons funded.
Quietly taking away our right to protest(especially Israel)
lmao smh
Of course you are RIGHT, and no matter if Trump is totally the opposite of what you think, it is a DISASTER to give ANY POTUS Un-checked Powers. Unconstitutional as well. But, the Giant JACKASS in the room is that the TABLE WAS SET FOR HILLARY! Period. Good Point, possible faulty conclusions.
But at least one thing, we NEED opposing viewpoints, and you are not embracing either party. I salute that!
