Plastifist. Kitchen 2.0
Where I live in Norway, it´s almost impossible to come home from shopping groceries without a lot of waste made out of plastic..It was about time to make some changes, first thing i did was that I always carry two shopping bags made of cotton in my bag. Also a bottle made of aluminium to bring with me water, and a nice cup for when I buy coffee on the go. Benefits with a shopping bag like this, easier to carry and off course it looks a lot nicer then a plastic bag :)
For many years I have stored some groceries like flour, sugar and stuff like that in jars, but this has been done only because of the aesthetic of it. Now I have a good reason to continue and expand this in my kitchen.
My next project was to test out storing food in the refrigerator without using plastic. I tried Beeś wrap a cotton clothing with beeswax, jojoba oil and tree resin. It´s reusable, you can wash it and it last for a year. Because you can only wash it on low temperature it´s not useable for meat or fish. I first ordered one to test storage of bread.
Easy to wrap, the smell is great and I will never wrap homemade bread in a plastic bag more..
Easy to clean up with cold water and mild soap.
Later I ordered three smaller for storage cheese, fruit and porridges made in the refrigerator. These i ordered from Superbee, to test out another brand made with coco nut oil instead of jojoba oil
Wrapped the traditional norwegian cheese called; Brunost.
Wraps are here to stay at my kitchen, now a little bit more greener then it used to be.
I´l bee back soon to write more about a greener lifestyle :)
Have a great day! #letsmakeourplanetgreatagain

Thank you! Glad you liked it :)
WHERE did you get those containers with the wooden lids?? I LOVE them.
Yes! I love them as well I got them as a birthday gift from a good friend of mine. The grey ones are from a brand called Bloomingville, it think it is a danish brand? And the white one with pattern is from Mr&Mrs Clynk, and it is marked with an address: www.atomicsoda.fr Hope this can help you :) Have a great day and welcome to steemit !
