2 Cities and an Hour And A Half Later, The Mail Is At The Post Office.

in #life8 years ago (edited)

There was tons of mail to deliver to the post office today; well tons of mail for me. I live just about exactly in the middle between two small towns. One has a population of just a little over 3,000 people and the other has a little over 30,000 people.

I decided to drive to the smaller town to deliver the packages and mail. I also needed to pick up larger boxes for the Hamburger Saint Project as I decided at the last minute to make a "remodel" of one of the gifts. Same gift, just a remodel. So, after leaving the Dollar General Market I finally made it to the post office about 2:30.

Guess What? It closed at noon! On A Wednesday! Ah, the good ol' Bible Belt.

By now I am a good hour into the trip after stopping at the store. I recompose myself to drive to the larger town. As I'm traveling down the road a State Trooper starts to ride my tail. I still don't understand why most public servants of this type don't follow the "one car length between cars for every 10 MPH" rule. He must be checking my plates.

I'm not an international fugitive or ever had a warrant so I'm not worried...just frustrated that he's not following the rules of the road. "I should brake check him", I think to myself. Nah...I'm not feeling that frisky today.

Short time for activity. The two cities are very close

With my schedule, 25 minutes apart is a big chunk of my day. However, Seeing you are from Aceh that is probably a short amount of time to you.
