RE: Are humans destroying the Earth?

I'm convinced,

...It's impossible to understand why we don't all just stand up and demand an end to it from the leaders we elect. I suspect:

  1. Systematic Brain washing
  2. It's in our nature to take stuff, to make our individual chance of survival better - all life competes, but competition doesn't need to be this brutal, to win at regardless the cost to others...competition these days seems to be hooked to cash and luxury benefits for the winner...instead it can be a thing of beauty, drive innovation and even be fun if the stakes are not so high.

Cheers

We can demand all we like, but while the large corporations and the wealthy can buy policy decisions we're stuck in a difficult position.

The main reason why the Australian government is so pro-coal is because all the big coal mining companies have paid for those in power to support their industry.

There's no logical decision to keep coal fired power plants operating, and yet they continue to operate.

So our government needs to stop bending their knee to large corporations. Then we can see real change.

Our government is always saying how they are allowing for huge job creation by approving new mines and keeping struggling mines open. And yet the mining industry only employs around 12% of our population.... there are much bigger industries out there to support.

The government's not broken. It's doing exactly what it always does and was designed to do.
