The occlophobia is that fear or excessive fear of concentrations of people, crowds.
This phobia is related to the agoraphobia that is the fear of being in open spaces. A person with oclofobia tends to avoid attending any event or place where there are many people, such as concerts, going to the movies, the theater, attending a football game, going to shopping centers, etc.
Usually this type of fear is often suffered more by women than men, when an occlopathic person is surrounded by many people begin to feel panic, this due to the increased anxiety that causes that situation, a shy person may feel dubious , unstable when it is close to so many unknown people.
The fear of being surrounded by so many people can generate the following symptoms for the occiphobic:
- Stomach disorders
- Respiratory difficulties
- Affraid to die
- Tremors
- Excessive sweating
- Increase in heart rate
- Among others.
People with this condition must undergo psychological therapies, they should begin to attend group therapies, starting with small groups, and as they are feeling comfortable, then increase the number of people, starting with few people will allow to the mind to get used little by little. Try to always carry music with you, the music will help you to get distracted. We have all been afraid of something ever, the important thing is not to let that fear dominate you and take control of your life.
