DO YOU EVEN BUMBLEBEE?

in #life7 years ago

Did you know?
According to the laws of aerodynamics, the bumblebee shouldn't be able to fly in a normal manner. But guess what? No one really mentioned it to the bumblebees so they fly anyway.

Now, for a moment why don't you just sit back and answer a few questions for me? Imagine you were back to being a seven-year-old at school and have someone walk into your class and ask,"Who amongst all of you is the fastest runner?" If you're imagining it right, you're going to see sixty hands up in the air in a class of thirty. Everyone is already a winner in their mind because "how can you not?" or so they say. Young minds love living life in the superlative. Now let us quickly fast forward ten years ahead. What do you see now? I see seventeen hands either pointing at or raising a friends hand for them, and about five who couldn't care lesser about the same. Same kids, same question, same place so what really happens to these once confident, enthusiastic, and dynamic minds over the years? Let's find out.

Society. That is exactly what happened. Society, a gathering of masses where the ratio of knowledge to population is just as low as having a pair of aces every hand in a game of poker, lower actually. The very society that you and I create. As we all are familiar with the phrase, "Empty vessels make more noise." very well, we must also familiarise ourselves with the fact that it is often the louder noise that people perceive more easily than the softer ones, children inclusive. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to get from that to that, does it? That is exactly why we must very carefully understand that these budding minds are yet to mature completely and be able to reason everything before their mind absorbs it.

Ever heard about the four-minute mile barrier? Where people thought it was impossible to run a mile under four minutes until Roger Bannister first achieved the feat in 1954. And who were these people who sensationalized the apparent barrier anyway? Maybe a few who tried it a few times but couldn't succeed and the rest who just deemed it true and spread the word. Let us look into something a bit more relatable, shall we? Being completely honest with yourself, how many times have you studied for an exam just a night before and barely passed it? And how many times have you gone further with it and told a peer or junior studying the subject later that it was a horrible idea or that it was just way too difficult? DO YOU REALISE WHAT YOU DID THERE? You just flapped your wings once back then and the storm it created probably is yet to end. It is human tendency to try and hide lacking qualities in us by tagging the path to be 'flawed' just to feed our inflated egos. Joke's on us though, because that discouragement or fear that we instilled in that impressionable mind back then might've been the one making the world a better place now had it been fed with truth and motivation.

Inside of us is where lie all the answers we need by now. Look deeper and you shall find out exactly what puts these budding minds in a never-ending downward spiral. Young, sharp and brilliant kids start losing their confidence, positivity, optimism, and a lot more. Where did the domino begin? It began from exactly where you are reading this from, exactly where you can fix it from.

Letting bygones be bygones, let us all together take it upon ourselves to provide not only young but every single mind on this planet above and beyond puny humane boundaries with what it seeks. Knowledge. In any and every form. Let us not only give back but give back more. Starting from informative posts on this beautiful platform to open source contributions. Together, we could do a lot.

Don't ever tell a curious mind that he cannot fly instead tell him about the Bumblebee and watch him fly.

BEE BUMBLE.
