Funny & Inciteful Story 1: Never Underestimate Yourself

in #life6 years ago

Scene: A traveler's vehicle fell into a ditch and he was unable to get it out. He searched for someone to help him and found a farmer feeding grass to his horse.

The traveler walked to the farmer and explained his situation. He asked the farmer to help him get his vehicle out. The farmer inspected the vehicle and understood that his horse can help the traveler out. He asked for a reward to which the traveler agreed. He brought his horse and tied the rope between the horse and vehicle such that the horse can pull the vehicle out.

The farmer shouts out loud, “Pull Amy, pull !! Pull Bristol, pull !! Pull harder Stephanie !! Give it your all, Jenny !! and then patted on the horse as a sign to pull”. As soon as the farmer patted the horse, it pulled hard and got the vehicle out. The traveler was puzzled and asked the farmer what he did.

The farmer explains: “Jenny is the name of the horse here. Amy, Bristol and Stephanie are my other horses which are in the stables in my house. You see, Jenny is blind. When I called the names of other horses, it thought it had help. So, it gained confidence and was able to pull the vehicle out. Had I called out to only Jenny from the beginning, your vehicle would still be in the ditch.”

The farmer asks some money as reward to buy grass for the horse.  And the traveler leaves the area astound by farmer's wit.

There is no doubt that the hero of the story is the farmer. But, there is a good lesson you need to learn from Jenny . Sometimes, we can’t give it our all in doing tasks because we underestimate ourselves. We should never underestimate ourselves.
