¿How to make artificial snow?

How to make artificial snow step by step:

1) Open the diaper and remove all the cotton that is inside.

2) Rubbing the cotton with both hands, you have to fall a small white pole to go crumbling. This powder is called sodium polyacrylate and is essential for the experiment.

3) All the dust that you have removed from the diaper must be gathered in the container.

4) Once it is in the container, shake it so that the extra cotton stays on top, and then remove it. Although it seems small to create a little snow, it will be enough.

5) When you have all the sodium polyacrylate separated from the cotton, we are going to pour some water into the container.

6) Wait a few seconds, as it is mixed becomes homemade snow, sometimes happens instantaneously.

7) You can turn the container and check that the snow, even, stays inside it, that is to say that it has a lot of consistency.

¿Why it happened?

The diapers have certain components that make them absorbent, this one has the name of sodium polyacrylate. This is a polymer that has the ability to absorb large amounts of water, which increases the volume of it. The powder of this substance is white without odors that is why when the baby urinates, no type of species is formed.

When a certain amount of sodium polyacrylate is mixed with water, it creates a kind of snow. It is not a frozen substance like the real one but if the texture is similar, that is why the method is used to create artificial snow. If you let dry the sustncia with the water it will return to its original form, that is to say dust. But if you wet it again, it will keep its snow shape.
