When God disowned his own Country – “ Kerala - God’s Own Country”

Kerala is one of the most beautiful states of South India and probably features among the beautiful places on earth…. Its green landscapes are a visual treat to the eye. The moment you set foot in this God’s Own Country, you feel like you are in paradise. All your stress takes a beating and you rejuvenate yourself completely.

I happened to visit Kerala last year in the month of August with my family. We enjoyed a lot. It was a much needed stress buster which keeps you afresh for a much longer period and the memories last a lifetime.

Kerala as the name suggests is really an amazing destination. We had been to Munnar, Thekkadi and Kumarakom. It was real fun and I am posting few photos to describe the natural beauty of Kerala.

This year I had a plan to visit Wayanad which is another mesmerizing place to cool your heels.

But Destiny had something else stored in for this beautiful place on earth called the God’s own Country. Nature unleashed its wrath with full furry and spared none. Kerala has been inundated with never seen like flood. This is the worst flood the state has witnessed in over a century. The flood has taken tolls on life and property alike.

The situation is quite grim and as per news from various sources hundreds have lost life and laks have been displaced. The quantum of property damage is difficult to ascertain.

But this whole episode gives rise to a very serious question.

Who is responsible for such disasters??? Is it really a natural calamity???

All of us need to ponder…no matter which nationality we belong to or which part of earth we are dwelling. The onus lies on us. We have to take care of our surroundings and the nature else all will be destroyed and lamenting won’t help. The continuous deforestation that is happening all around is a serious concern for all of us.

So Think and Yes Needless to say please contribute as per your means for needy in Kerala.
