I can agree with most of your perspectives on this. But the issue here is that we are humans and as such are emotionally driven. It is what makes us human. we make mistakes and learn and are driven by our desires. Even the simplest thing such as love. This is is initially based on a desire, being attracted and so on. But, yes, we need to work on ourselves to better understand "us".
