In your opinion, can the blockchain steem ecosystem help a country to overcome poverty?

Absolutely YES in my opinion or I will consider it to have failed.

The huge problems in impoverished nations are in part caused by governemental corruption and financial mismanagement and people being unable to access basic banking services to be able to buy, sell and trade.

Microloans and other forms of microfinance have addressed these issues in previous years, attempting to encourage people to start and run small businesses and obviously provide themselves with a better income in the process.

Worst case scenario, blockchain can help distrobution of a universal basic income and in totally transparent manner.

Although such schemes have some success on a smaller scale, I truly think that crypto and blockchain technologies are the missing link.

Taking the example of a microloan for someone to buy tools to start a small business for example, a could send someone 20 Steem, Now. And in just a few seconds they would have that Steem in their wallet to use to buy their tools. Even better if the tool store accepted Steem as payment. The total cost just a few cents and the time taken, seconds.

Using traditional methods, I'd transfer using the traditional banking methods and sites , there would be charges for the transaction, charges for exchange rate fee and the whole thing might take 5 days before the reduced amount ends up in the recievers bank account.....ahhh if they actually had a bank account which many people dont in impoverished countries. Another great reason for blockchain, banking the unbanked.

Steem and the blockchain allows instant, almost free, borderless transactions without any middlemen taking a cut, and its this which can drag up anyone and any nation out of poverty and empower them to rise up to higher levels than what they could expect to under a traditional governemental and financial methodology.

All we need now is a network of bricks and mortar suppliers and shops that accept Steem as a native currency and community internet facilities set up in every remote community in the world. Definitely doable now.

Steem Blockchain + Microloans. Unbeatable poverty busters!

Corruption is widespread in my poor country but I am glad there is Steemit. It helps a little bit. Maybe many years from now your desires is granted if Steemit lasts for several years then it’ll be easier to pay as long as there is always WiFi. Hehe

It does help, I would just love to see it helping more people :-) I'm glad it helps you :-)
