They're Inside Nearly Every Work of Art I Produce: What Are You Looking At?

@NoNamesLeftToUse likes to mess with your head.

It has always been this way.

What Are You Looking At

Today

Rather than telling you where to look, I'll simply point. That part is already finished.

Instead of using some sort of sleight of hand magic trick to distract you away from them, I'll allow you both to have a staring competition.

You will not win. That does not make you a loser by default though, so don't beat yourself up to bad.

There's Nothing to be Afraid Of

They're everywhere, inside nearly everything. Hidden in plain sight. They watch you like they watch me.

Those chills you felt didn't hurt. It is not an evil force. They come from a world that is much like looking in a mirror.

You are not afraid of your own reflection.

Evil. Live. Evil. Live. Evil. Live. Evil. Live. Evil. Live. Evil. Live.

Breathe in, breathe out. You're as much alive as they are. Evila doesn't make much sense but we can all drive a racecar.

Those in a power struggle will be afraid once they pull on to the track.

Acting like they are above now while knowing full well we do not go there until later.

They will be in for a surprise when they meet man's best friend.

Am I looking at eyes?

The riddle (if it is in fact a riddle and not simply a trickster’s game) leads me to believe that the answer should be a palindrome or an emordnilap/mirror word (clues — evil/live, eliva/alive, racecar, man's best friend = dog/god). So, that led me to consider “eye” as a possible answer, but since the riddle speaks of “they” and “them” I thought “eyes” would make more sense in context.

In What Are You Looking At there is clearly a finger pointing at a face with eyes, which itself appears to be floating inside one of two giant empty eye sockets. Or at least that's what I see. 🙂

If this is incorrect, I still had fun thinking about your riddle, and I hope my guess helps someone else get it right. Oh and thanks for the insomnia. Riddles will do that to me.

P.S. fwiw I still can't figure out how "Thank you for staying on top" fits in with all this, but I suspect it is somehow related to the word "above" in the second to last line.

You are clever.

The answer is not eyes.

Well … thank you for the response. It's good to know what answers are not correct. Back to the thinking board. I do hope someone figures this out because I'm very curious.

Eye see you. I actually think ewe is the spell they should have used for that particular word.
I'm not entirely here right now. I feel like I'm on the verge of a crash though I've never been in a racecar. I'm holding the turn though, suspended somehow, wheels spinning, the wall on one side, the grass on the other. Oddly I know somewhere inside that even if I do hit the wall, I'll wake up. I have to, people depend on it.

I sometimes wonder if dogs are in fact gods.

You speak the language well.

The answer remains hidden.

I got it.

Not sure if you want to keep people guessing, so I answered somewhere else..

My brain has been on hiatus, I felt a bit clearer today so decided to give this one more read through. Great riddle, really great because it's somehow difficult and obvious at the same time.

That answer was incorrect.

This is really super cool. Did you use liquify tool while creating it?

Thanks!

To answer your question: No. Which program has a liquify tool?

Adobe Photoshop.

I actually googled for an answer long ago. I don't use photoshop. Haven't tried it out.

If you look at some of my other pieces, you'll see similarities in style. Basically, the artist has to pull colors in meaningful directions while shading to add depth. Much like painting a landscape I guess.

That's Ferrari red-- I'm going to say it's bigfoot, crashing in an Italian sports car.

There's only one answer today. This entire post is a riddle. Solving it would be impressive.

In one word then; Rorschach.

That is not the one word I am looking for.

I'm hiding myself below a blanket, coz I am freaking scared now!
BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!

I do that when I'm cold!

Not quite sure how your captured my dyeing soul but by golly you have done it! That or batman is really having an off day in that photo and tried to dress up his lips like joker- -smile!

It is a fascinating piece. I'm proud of this one.

Beautiful piece as always. Do I see a dog in this one? Is that what you're referring to by "man's best friend" at the end?

Thank you. I like that one too.

Everything here will remain open to interpretation today. I do not know what you see.

By the way, this entire post is a riddle. There's only one answer. I'm not giving any hints.

I re-read your post and re-read it again, and looked at the picture, and re-read the post again, and looked at the picture.....

I'm stumped. I'm going to guess. I'm sure it's wrong: Faces.

I have spent an hour on this. Taking notes. I have to try to forget about this now. I really thought I had it with "Faces." Looking through your artwork I see a lot of faces in it, and I think that:

  • you "pointing" and that part already being done refers to how you created the artwork (pointing your stylus)
  • "they're everywhere; inside nearly everything" is a reference to pareidolia-- the tendency to see faces in random patterns and everyday actions
  • "man's best friend" refers to dogs; dogs lick faces when they see the opportunity.

But if that's the case, I can't quite figure out:

Those in a power struggle will be afraid once they pull on to the track.
Acting like they are above now while knowing full well we do not go there until later.

Among other things I've thought it's been:

  • Reflections and/or fractals, but they are not alive
  • Electrons or other subatomic particles
  • Angels -- this one was winning for the longest time, especially with the man's best friend reference at the end ("all dogs go to heaven" after all), as well as the bit about not winning the staring competition (thinking of Weeping Angels of Doctor Who fame)...

I don't know if I will be able to scrub this from my mind until I know the answer. Will you ever tell?

This riddler might be a trickster. Be careful. He could drive you mad.

Amazing post that's really.

what an amazing art this is!!! thanks for sharing for giving chance to see that.

Just saw you were back. I will be sure to be let you mess with my head daily <3

I've been back for awhile now. I'm noticing a lot of folks are starting to notice again. I'm having so much fun. Thanks for coming back!

Stumped...

😄😇😄

@creatr

I'm sorry. That answer is incorrect!

I, too, am sorry that it's incorrect... ;)
