Shocking fact: Carnivorous plant of North East India.

In nature, there are several unusual things around us. Plants, basically produce their own food through photosynthesis on presence of sun. For this reason, they are called autotropus . But, there are carnivorous plants also.

They are called pitcher plant. We heard several stories from our grand mother-father. Even we watch many movies regarding this. But, Do you know that some pitcher plant also found in India?

A eart jar shaped pitcher plant is available at Khasi hills of Meghalaya state. It's biological name is Neptenthis khasiyana. It contains a cylinder and a cape on upper side. When batterfly, mosquitoes, insect entered into the cylender the head cap close down. And this way they consume other living creatures.
