Machu Picchu
is a 15th-century Inca castle situated on a mountain crease 2,430 metres above sea level. It is located in the Cusco Region, Urubamba Province, Machupicchu constituency in Peru, above the Sacred Valley, which is 80 kilometres northwest of Cuzco and through which the Urubamba tributary flows.
Most archaeologists judge that Machu Picchu was constructed as an estate for the Inca monarch Pachacuti (1438–1472). over and over again mistakenly referred to as the "Lost metropolis of the Incas" (a title further accurately functional to Vilcabamba), it is the as a rule friendly icon of Inca civilization. The Incas built the estate around 1450 but abandoned it a century anon at the time of the Spanish Conquest.
