Botanical Garden Cosmovitral, heritage of my city.

in #life7 years ago

The building that houses the botanical garden is a wrought iron Art Nouveau structure built during the Porfiriato, at the beginning of the 20th century to house the Market on September 16.

The cosmovitral is a chromatic and thematic succession without a delimited principle or end, whose contemplation can begin in any of its parts.

The Cosmovitral, work that has served as an identity to the city and the State of Mexico, is one of the largest in the world; It took me one year for Leopoldo Flores to design it and for the stained glass Bernabé Fernández, the person in charge of realizing it, 3 years. It consists of 48 stained glass windows.

To build it, approximately 75 tons of metal structure, 45 tons of blown glass and 25 tons of lead cañuelas were used; It is formed by 500,000 fragments of glass of 28 different colors.
