Education After Revolution 


          School become a place for all nation with different color and ethnicity and demanding for equality finally rest at ease in the time after the Civil War. Education starts to improve implicitly, and new programs and curriculum began to form. In the fourth episode of the documentary “School - The Story of American Public School” shows how school start to give more thoughts about what it’s better for students to get more knowledge and enjoy school at the same time.

          Testing was an important topic the video mention in the history of the education. The students before that were in the way of losing the interest of studying and the purpose behind them being at a school. At an early age, the children seem dedicated to their materials and homework at the school, but the older appear to become more careless with the graduation near them, and the standardised tests weren’t that important to them since they already could go to college no matter what the scores results. With time, they relate the testing to college so that if they want to get onto it; they need to have good results. With good scores, the good benefits come while considering college expensive to help the student through the year with whatever career they choose. The school began to have a different kind of activities and program that could catch students interest to keep them attached to school as much as they can. 

          The classroom environment is more advanced now than ever comparing to the old days. By looking at all the episode about the history of public education, we could form our philosophy after analyzing all the events and struggles that other teacher had to go through before, and take advantage of in creating a much better surrounding for students. Understanding children mind and the background is the key that could make the classroom a safe place to communicate and to get learn.
