Revolutionary Drug For Obesity Is Near!
Researchers at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston have recently developed a drug that prompts our body to burn fat faster. But that was half the battle, because this drug does it safely, leading to a decrease in weight and the level of unhealthy cholesterol. In addition, it does so without limiting the amount of calories provided to the body.
When white adipocytes grow in the body, they cause overexpression of a protein called nicotinamide N-methyltransferase (NNMT), which acts as a metabolic brake - hindering fat burning, making it easier for the body to store up. And the American scientists have managed to stop this phenomenon, thanks to which the fat metabolism has accelerated, and this is quite clearly.
During studies in mice, which were first brought to obesity, it was shown that only 10-day treatment causes loss of 7% of the total body weight, which is mainly from fat - white fat tissue decreased by 30% and clearly decreased themselves fat cells. The animals also had a decrease in cholesterol in the blood, to the level that occurs in animals of normal weight.
The best? This was without any limitation of the amount of calories consumed - all mice, those who received the drug and representatives of the control group, had the same diet throughout the experiment.
Of course, from research to animals, there is still a long way to go into the market, but it looks quite promising.
