RE: Update On The Small House! We Are Still Working On It Too.....

in #life7 years ago

We’ve been remodeling our house for 20 years. Oh, my, it’s been 20 years! Yikes! So, I know how long some things can take. I’m enjoying following along with your small house improvements! Thanks for keeping us updated!

I really hope it does not take me 20 years. LOL. It is hard trying to balance everything that is going on in life and sometimes things take a while. I just do a little each day and slowly it will get done. Thanks!

Well, our house was once a duplex that nuns, who ran a hospital, lived in. Then it was turned into a dr.'s office. The hospital was going to tear it down to make room for a walking track. We were 19 and didn't have a lot of money and couldn't find a solid fixerupper in our price range, and the big guy at the hospital said we could have it if we moved it. So we got a little lot for about $7,000, and paid $35,000 to have the structure moved and put on a foundation. Instant fixerupper. We've worked on it here and there when we had some money and some time while we raised 3 kids. Things have sped up over the last couple of years since our kids are pretty much grown and we have a little more money coming in. I remember how excited we were when we replaced the chem shower with a real one! lol

It is the little things that make it all worthwhile.
