When did YOU decide?

in #life8 years ago

Just some things that are currently on my mind.

Why is it that we as parents tell our children to "treat others the way you want to be treated" , yet we as adults don't follow the same rule?

When did YOU decide that rule should no longer apply to you and how you live your life? Is it a 'do as I say and not as I do' sort of thing?

When did you decide that what you believe is more important than the beliefs of your neighbors, coworkers or family?

How do you go from posting anti-gay memes and being against gay marriage to #prayingfororlando or #weareorlando? You would HATE for them to have equal rights because it's against your beliefs, but are quick to support them when someone else attacks them.

Why is it we idolize and mourn a Muslim athlete one week, and the next we critize the entire religion as if other religions and people from other religions haven't done their share of harm in the world...

A lot of people are saying "Make America Great Again", and somehow that's going to happen by building a wall and keeping people out of our country.

No. That happens when we realize that America IS great because we are the melting pot of the world... A country where different cultures come together. Where you can be anything you want to be. (Except, Gay, Mexican or Muslim apparently.)

Ignorance breeds fear. Fear breeds Hate. Hate breeds violence. You can't spew hate and act surprised when hateful actions occur.

Open your heart, open your mind, educate yourself and take responsibility for your words and actions. Our children deserve better than this.

I'm not sure I quite follow. Every question is a straw man. None of the questions apply to me.

The post isn't written about you, so that may be why...
