Three Tips for Better Productivity

in #life7 years ago

I hope you count among those who have taken advantage of the free days around the holidays to meditate on a better life and not necessarily to stick with all the goodies of the season. I hope! The winter, especially in January, should be the perfect opportunity to think better about some of the professional changes that you deserve to do in the new year. Most of us already know what we want: more free time. 55% of Romanians who responded recently to a poll say they are willing to accept a less paid job but with more free time. A study that I interpret a bit differently: Romanians want to stop over the program and not work on the weekend to enjoy more life. That we only work to live, we do not live to work.

In such a situation, changing jobs should not, however, be a priority. Rather, you should ask yourself if you use the eight hours of work effectively. Otherwise, no matter where you work and no matter how much money, you will have to stay over the program anyway to finish what you left unfulfilled. And to be productive at work, you just have to organize yourself better. Here are just three steps that can help you get better workplace efficiency:

Rest well

If you still like to spend nights in clubs even during the week, you've discovered the first explanation for which you often stay out of schedule: you get tired or hangover at the office and you do not get the job done. To get the best out of work, it is essential to rest properly, and that means sleeping 7-8 hours each night and sleeping before midnight. Also, a balanced diet without excess food is just as important for your well-being. Last but not least, a little bit of sport is, in turn, essential, whether we talk about an hour at the gym or a few dozen minutes of running in the park.

Organize the day of work

The second step is to know exactly what you have to do on that day, when you get to work. Obviously, this also depends on the nature of your job. As far as possible, I recommend that you set up an agenda in advance. If you know that memory is not your strength, you can very well turn to the ordinary combination of paper and pencil or to their modern version, a smartphone application. Make a list of the tasks for that day, but do not forget to reserve an hour for unexpected situations. We all woke up with an urgent mail to resolve as quickly as possible, did not we?

List of priorities

You have a long list of tasks if you do not know which one to start with. The solution is to organize these goals according to your difficulty and time. If you know that you are more productive in the morning than after noon, the solution is to solve demanding and complex operations in the first part of the day. That way, during the day, you only have to deal with minor issues, which do not require much time or attention in front of the monitor.

Bonus: Keep your calm, even if you do not finish the job

You will often notice that despite all efforts, there are days when you simply will not be able to accomplish your goals and finish your job in time. But it is not the case to get angry, especially as new tasks happen frequently in the middle of the day. And if you come to the conclusion that you do not know exactly how to solve a particular problem, ask for help from a colleague. No one was born taught.

If you are at least partially aware of these tips, you may be able to get out of office in time for most days. And, of course, to avoid work on the weekend. In this way, you will think twice before saying that you want to find a new job, even less well paid, just to have more free time.
