Is There Really A Zombie Apocalypse Coming? Buy Your BaseBall Bats.

in #life7 years ago (edited)

I was on Amazon yesterday looking for a new Baseball bat. Half the fun of ordering something like a Baseball bat off Amazon is seeing how they deliver it (they have some ridiculous packaging sometimes).

I narrowed it down to a Louisville Slugger and a "no name" Aluminum bat - both in youth size.

I decided to check the review to see if the bats had any negative comments. I couldn't make my mind up between the two of them - Louisville Slugger reminds me of my youth - but a cheap no name bat also reminds me of my youth and lets face it - nobody uses a 24" bat their whole baseball lives.

I was shocked when I got to the reviews. More than one person was "joking" about using it for protection - reviewing it like an alarm system rather than something you use to play baseball with. After scrolling down the page I realized they weren't joking. Not only were they not joking - but it seemed a lot of people were preparing for a zombie apocalypse.

Great choice for home protection...

People really do fear their personal safety in this day and age and it is really clear when you look at cheap baseball bats on Amazon. Most of us don't believe in a zombie apocalypse - but that term seems to have become a euphemism for any catastrophic event. My favorite comment is the guy who says he purchased the bat to keep intruders away - and so far its working!

A Pick Handle will do the same job without the cost ! ( using as a weapon).

Whatever you can grab is usually your best weapon! What I found interesting is these people actually went through the process and left these comments. There must be tens of thousands who buy the cheap baseball bat for "security reasons". Wish I had thought of doing that on Amazon 5 years ago - seems lucrative....

Its better than a board with a nail in it.

Amazing bats, want it hahaha

The worst thing is I don't believe any catastrophe of that calibre might happen and I play loads of games where I kill the braindeads. Thing is yesterday I couldn't sleep because of realistic zombie apocalypse nightmares. The most terrifying nightmares I ever had.
