Feminism

in #life7 years ago (edited)

I have long wanted to tell you about my opinion on the topic of feminism. By issuing this article, I'm afraid of being misunderstood. To avoid this, I will try to be concise.

History

Let's turn to history to understand what has changed over the 2 centuries. The word itself was coined by Charles Fourier in the late 18th century. He believed that feminists are supporters of women's equality. And here we hear the painfully familiar word "Equality". The first American feminist was Abigail Smith Adams. She said the phrase, which had already become cult:

"We are determined to foment a rebellion, and will not hold ourselves bound by any laws in which we have no voice, or representation"

To make it more clear, women were not allowed to attend the elections at that time. This was not the only infringement of their rights. They demanded such rights as: education, respect in society, participation in political life and many others. I think Abigail is a great woman who made a lot of men move around that oppressed women at that time. I think that after this short excursion, it becomes more clear about what kind of equality is involved.

Gold Globe

So, the rights of a man = the rights of women. Now we have got close to the idea, because of which I decided to talk on this topic. Just recently, the 75th ceremony of the Golden Globe Ceremony took place. At this event, among other things (Say, all the projects that took several awards, one way or another were devoted to the topic of feminism.) But, I confess, I did not watch them, it is possible that they really are very worthy, and did not receive a reward only for that , so as not to cause anger among the masses) the phrase Natalie Portman was remembered:

«And here are the all male nominees»

Do not you think that in our time there is just a substitution of concepts. Instead of WOMEN = MEN, we are trying to impose WOMEN > MEN. Why the director-woman should receive the award only because of her gender, if in this nomination there are other directors who are more talented. In the Golden Globe, I was only pissed at quote Portman. Is not this happened in the 18-19 centuries, only from men already. In fact, if this woman participated in this nomination, no one would say a word, we will be honest. Now the awards are not given for the talent of a person, but for his gender. What happens is what we fought for and it's wrong. Such cases are not unique and it is terrible.

We must be equal!

In conclusion, I say that I am for equality of the genders, because we are all people. It is wrong when a person is not recruited because she is a woman. Therefore, feminism must exist now, while prejudices are still alive. However, the trend shows that in parallel with equality, we are trying to shove and superiority. All that has been said, of course, is my value proposition, and I will be glad if I find myself wrong somewhere and you will explain why you think that among the women in the opinion of the jury this year there were no talented directors is an infringement of someone's rights.
