Life According to Holden Caulfield

in #life7 years ago (edited)

Nobody understands adolescence better than J.D. Salinger. His seminal work “The Catcher in the Rye” captures the essence of teenage life so well it makes the old ones feel nostalgic about their good old days. To the young ones, the book inspires them to celebrate and live their lives to the fullest. It is a must read for the old, the young, and everyone in between.

“The Catcher in the Rye” is the ultimate self-help book for both teenagers and adults who are trying to make most out of life. From the eyes of the main character named Holden Caulfield, the reader finds meaning even in the most commonplace of things such as the smell of Vicks Vaporub. Holden Caulfield provides a fresh perspective on things and events which helps the reader better appreciate life and the world in general.

For Adults

Parents, guardians, and even school administrators will be accordingly guided in dealing with and reaching out to teenagers. Adults have their fair share of experiences as teenagers. They have earned their lessons too. Reading the book will help remind them that they too used to be young and restless and wanted a little bit of understanding.

For the Youth of the Nation

If there is a fictional character that the teenagers can relate to, it is Holden Caulfield. That smart and inquisitive fellow whose curiosity breeds more questions than answers. That restless soul whose thirst for adventure is unquenchable is inside every teenager. Holden Caulfield is a friend they can crack jokes and share heartbreaks with.

JD Salinger is one of my favorite author. This is a new perspective about the book, worth reading and worth recommending for parents.
