So we are a program that is after learning the source code (DNA) of the program that programs us to behave according to the program?

If this happened to our computer, we would call that virus or infinite loop and either force shutdown or format.

Someone ask those who are out their to decipher the source code to stop, otherwise, we will be formatted from the face of the earth!

Interesting read! Thank you!

Maybe that is where some foresee mankind heading: self-extinction, whether through Mother Earth's backlashes against our abuse of her, nuclear holocaust, AI apocalypse, or otherwise.

Or maybe the program doesn't program us to behave... maybe the program has juat been set in motion, with the opportunity to increase access levels to where we can reprogram...

If were the case, perhaps those attempting to decipher the code might be after what's needed to rewrite the code that's had us on the path towards self-destruction.

Or, none of these could be truthful. Or they all could. Could potentially go any number of ways - depending on what the program is set for and how it gets recoded... :-)

Very True!!! Great Insight and for that I follow you :)

I have always enjoyed this subject, but there is one big flaw in the idea that we are living in a simulation. If we are, then who is running that simulation? And if you can generate such an accurate simulation, what is to say that our simulation runners, aren't a simulation themselves? You start down this infinite regression where you never know who is running any simulations. It is therefore more likely that we are in the base reality rather than not. Also, as you go up the chain, you start to run in to computational issues. Even if you have incredible computers, at some point, they will not be able to keep up. You should see gaps or glitches, and since all of our experiments have been very predictable , it is likely we are in base reality.
Good read though. Thank you.

I agree with you point theoretically, and I too struggle with the question of who or what maintains the simulation. I don't, however, view this as a reasonable criticism of the theory in itself. Just because we cannot fathom the origins of the simulated reality doesn't change the statistical argument that this is, in fact, a simulation.
On the other hand, it's so far removed that our notion of computing power might not even apply to the real base reality. Our notion of physics might not even apply.

Very true and good points. Sure I might be a brain in a vat, or a simulation, but I still believe my experience and will continue to live my life as if we are in the base reality.

Actually there is a reddit for such glitches!

When you consider the likes of "Grand Theft Auto" , how do we REALLY know any different... I spent a lot of time pondering this! For instance, what we imagine solid to be solid could well be just that we are programmed to believe this is so. Talk about mind warping :) .The real scary thing is though is who is controlling the computer :)

Thank you for the article! Got me thinking again !

Your welcome. Mission accomplished. :-)

I'd say, why fear at all? Let's say nobody. And there is no computer. Perhaps our computers have merely been a physical projection of the same type of design of the universe - it's just the structure and fabric or reality itself, governed by laws of mathematics and physics.

Perhaps there is no one "in control", per se - it's all just a program set in motion, unfolding according to code.

Or, we are - to the degree we unlock increasing levels of access to rewrite the code. ;-)

Sounds like the matrix all over again. I guess the only way to answer whether what we're looking at right now is real is to go to the spirit world (assuming in your mind that it exist). It's questions like these that forces you to ask more questions until you get to the bottom of things.

I think this theory carries more weight when the idea that some higher intelligence created the simulation. If it's a simulation at all, what's to say it had to be created?

Muy interesante, en esto se fundamentan quienes sostienen la teoría de que nuestra realidad es el resultado de un experimento alienígena.

Very nice and power full skill.......fr

Greaf article. I've been pondering this for a while now - !!?

Yes its a simulation, and we are under control from birth
